The 2024 North Carolina State Treasurer election was held on November 5, 2024, to elect the North Carolina State Treasurer, concurrently with elections to the U.S. House of Representatives, governor, and other state and local elections. Incumbent Republican treasurer Dale Folwell declined to seek re-election a third term and instead ran for governor. [1]

Contents

Primary elections were held on March 5, 2024, also known as Super Tuesday. [2] Briner won the Republican primary with roughly 40% of the vote over candidates A.J. Daoud and Rachel Johnson, and Harris won the Democratic primary with 67% of the vote against Gabriel Esparza. [3]

Briner defeated Harris in the general election with 52.45% of the vote. [4]
