The 2024 Scottsdale mayoral election is scheduled to be held on November 5, 2024, to elect the mayor of Scottsdale, Arizona. Incumbent mayor, Dave Ortega ran for a second term, but was defeated in the general election.

Dave Ortega won his first election back in 2020, against Lisa Borowsky, who is his opponent once again. [1] The two advanced to a runoff back in July, after defeating City Councilwoman, Linda Milhaven. [2] David Ortega was defeated by Attorney Lisa Borowsky, winning with 54.2% of the votes. [3]

First elected in June 2000 until September of 2009, she served two terms and lost her campaign for a third term as mayor in the November 2008 runoff mayoral election to her opponent, former Certified Public Accountant and businessman and former city councilman Jim Lane.

W. J. "Jim" Lane is an American politician and businessman who served as mayor of Scottsdale, Arizona from 2009 to January 2021, when term limits forced his departure. A member of the Republican Party, he was first elected to the Scottsdale City Council in 2004. Lane is a resident of the city's northern portion.

On May 4, 2019, the city of San Antonio, Texas held an election to choose the next mayor of San Antonio. The election was a nonpartisan blanket primary. As no candidate secured a majority of the vote, a runoff was held on June 8, 2019, between the two top candidates, incumbent mayor Ron Nirenberg and San Antonio City Councilman Greg Brockhouse. In the runoff, Nirenberg narrowly defeated Brockhouse, 51.11% to 48.89%.
The 2019 Houston mayoral election was decided by a runoff that took place on December 14, 2019 to elect the Mayor of Houston. Incumbent mayor Sylvester Turner defeated attorney Tony Buzbee in the runoff by 56.04% to 43.96%. No candidate won a majority of the vote during the general election on November 5, 2019 where Turner received 46% of the vote and Buzbee received 29%.
Katharine Sarah Gallego is an American politician serving as the 62nd mayor of Phoenix, Arizona, since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served on the Phoenix City Council from 2014 to 2018.
On November 3, 2020 El Paso County elected the mayor of El Paso, Texas, four members of city council, two county commissioners, county sheriff, state senator, and five state representatives. El Pasoans voted for members of the House of Representatives of the United States from the 16th and 23rd districts of Texas, district attorney, United States senator, and president of the United States.

At least three special elections to the United States Congress were scheduled as either deaths or vacancies arose. The Democratic Party retained control of the governorship in Kentucky, flipped the Wisconsin Supreme Court and held a seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, gained six seats in the New Jersey General Assembly, and won back unified control of the Virginia General Assembly, while Republicans also flipped the governorship in Louisiana and narrowly retained Mississippi's governorship. The election cycle also saw Ohio voting to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution and legalize cannabis for recreational use. The results were widely seen as a success for the Democratic Party.
The 2022 Tulsa municipal elections were held on August 23, 2022. A top two runoff election was scheduled for November 8 if no candidate received a majority vote. All nine city council seats and the city auditor are elected to two year terms. The filing period was June 13–15. Incumbent Mayor G.T. Bynum would not be up for reelection until 2024. All nine city council seats will have contested elections. City Auditor Cathy Carter was re-elected without opposition.
