The 2024 Hawaii House of Representatives election was held on November 5, 2024, as part of the 2024 United States elections. [1] All 51 seats in the Hawaii House of Representatives will be elected.
The deadline to file for candidacy was June 4, 2024. [2] Primary elections are scheduled for August 10, 2024. [3]
Four incumbents did not seek re-election.
In addition, on July 11, 2024, Mark Nakashima unexpectedly passed away, leaving the District 1 seat vacant. [8] His appointed successor, Matthias Kusch, was not on the general election ballot leading to Nakashima being posthumously re-elected and the seat becoming vacant again. [9]
Four incumbent representatives, all Democrats, were defeated in the August 10 primary election. [10]
2 incumbent representatives, both Democrats, were defeated by Republicans in the general election. In addition, an open seat held by Democrats flipped to Republicans. [11]

A member of the Democratic Party, he has served as the U.S. representative for Hawaii's 1st congressional district since 2019, which covers the urban core of Honolulu. He represented the 2nd district, which covers the rest of the state, from 2002 to 2007.
Charles Kong Djou is an American politician and attorney who is currently Secretary of the American Battle Monuments Commission. A former member of the Republican Party, Djou briefly served as U.S. representative from Hawaii's 1st congressional district from May 2010 to January 2011.
