The Consulate General of Israel in Bangalore represents the interests of the Government of Israel in the Indian states of Karnataka and surrounding states Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. It was opened on 20 May 2013 at Murphy Road, Halasuru, Bangalore. The consulate reports to the ambassador at the Embassy of Israel in New Delhi.
In mid-2012 the Government of Israel was planning to open a consulate in Bangalore by the end of that year. They also announced their plans of starting three centres of excellence (CoE) in Karnataka related to horticulture. At that time they successfully built a close relationship with the horticulture department of the government of Karnataka. [1]
The consulate was officially inaugurated on 20 May 2013, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the founding of Israel. This was the second Israeli consulate in India after Mumbai, other than their main Embassy in New Delhi. India also became the fifth country in the world where the Government of Israel had more than two diplomatic missions. [2] [3] During the inauguration event, Israeli ambassador Alon Ushpiz told: [3]
Israel's presence in the technology capital of India comes naturally since Israel is also a hub for technology. We are also co-operating with the state in other fields like agriculture.

Bangalore is a powerhouse of India. It is the Silicon Valley of the country. Israel is also like the Silicon Valley of the world. Each of us can profit from one another.
From 1 July 2014 the consulate started issuing visas to Israel for the people of South Indian states Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. They partnered with IVS Processing Services Ltd. for this service. At that time more than 40,000 Indians were travelling to Israel every year. The opening of the centre will intensify people-to-people contact through travel. We are fully committed to strengthening the relationship between Israel and India.
At the same time the consulate signed a Karnataka-Israel programme to nurture collaborative industrial Research and Development (R&D) ventures between Karnataka and Israeli companies by providing financial support. [7] In July of that year, the consulate organized an Israeli film festival for the citizens of Bangalore. This event was jointly organized with the Suchitra Film Society and Bangalore Cultural Partners. Between 3 and 31 July, nine Israeli films were screened. [8]
In 2014 the consulate also started providing scholarships to Indian students to study in Israeli educational institutions. In September 2014 John Joe Vattathara was the first student from Bangalore to be awarded a scholarship for a four-year electrical and electronics engineering course at Tel Aviv University (TAU). [9]

The sharing of waters of the Kaveri River has been the source of a serious conflict between the two Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The genesis of this conflict rests in two agreements in 1892 and 1924 between the Madras Presidency and Kingdom of Mysore. The 802 kilometres (498 mi) Kaveri river has 44,000 km2 basin area in Tamil Nadu and 32,000 km2 basin area in Karnataka. The annual inflow from Karnataka is 425 Tmcft (12 km3) whereas that from Tamil Nadu is 252 TMCft (7.1 km3).

Pondicherry Airport is a domestic airport serving the union territory of Puducherry, India. It is located at Lawspet, situated 8.1 km (5.0 mi) from the international community of Auroville. The airport has scheduled flights and operations of the local flying training school. In 2007, the Government of Puducherry decided to expand the airport to accommodate larger aircraft and commissioned a new terminal building. The new terminal was inaugurated on 18 January 2013, with the arrival of a SpiceJet flight from Bangalore. After a gap of three years, the airport was operationalised again under the UDAN scheme in August 2017, with daily flights to Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway, or National Expressway 7 (NE-7), is a partially operational 258 km (160 mi) long, four-lane -wide access-controlled expressway between two of the major metro cities of India, Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka and Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. It will run from Hoskote in Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority to Sriperumbudur in Chennai Metropolitan Area. It will pass through three states-Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu It allows vehicles to reach a maximum speed limit of 120 km/h (75 mph). The road was designated as a National Expressway on 1 January 2021. The total project value is around ₹17,930 crore (US$2.1 billion).
The Consulate General of the United States of America in Hyderabad represents the interests of the U.S. government in Hyderabad, India and nearby surrounding areas. The Consulate General serves the Indian states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha. The current Consul General is Jennifer Larson, incumbent since September 2022.

The consulate reports to the ambassador at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. The current Consul General, the 27th, is Christopher W. Hodges, incumbent since July 2023. He was preceded by Judith Ravin.
The British Deputy High Commission, Chennai is the United Kingdom diplomatic mission with responsibility for the state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. It was formed in 1947 with Sir Christopher Masterman, CSI, CIE, as its inaugural holder, who served as Deputy High Commissioner until the following year. The Deputy High Commissioner is equivalent to a Consul-General, and reports to the British High Commission. The current Deputy High Commissioner is Halima Holland. The first female head of the Chennai mission, she succeeds Oliver Ballhatchet.

It is located in Chennai and its jurisdiction includes the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and the union territory of Puducherry. The other two are the Malaysian High Commission in New Delhi and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai, in addition to an honorary office in Kolkata. The current Consul General of the Chennai Consulate is Saravana Kumar Kumaravasagam.

The other missions in the country are the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi and the Royal Thai Consulates General in Kolkata and Mumbai. The Chennai Consulate covers the southern states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala. The current Consul General is Racha Aribarg. He succeeds Nitirooge Phoneprasert.
The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangalore represents the interests of the Government of Germany in the Indian states of Karnataka and Kerala. It was opened on 21 November 2008 in a temporary office in the central business district (CBD) of Bangalore. On 22 June 2012, the Consulate moved to its permanent premises in the corner of St. Mark's Road and Residency Road near the Bishop Cotton Girls' School. Achim Burkart is the current Consul General.
The Consulate General of South Korea in Chennai is one of the missions of South Korea in India focusing on Korean interests in the region. It is located in Chennai and its jurisdiction includes the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and the union territory of Puducherry. The other South Korean missions in the India is the Embassy of the Republic of Korea at New Delhi and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Mumbai, in addition to an honorary consulate office in Kolkata. The fourth and current consul general of the Chennai Consulate is Chang-nyun Kim. He was preceded by Kwon Young Seup, the third consul general of the Chennai Consulate.

Dana Kurdish is the former Consul General of Israel in Bangalore with consular jurisdiction over Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. She served from August 2017 until 2020. She had previously served from June 2015 to July 2017 as Deputy Ambassador of Israel to India in New Delhi.
