Fireman's Hall is a historic fire hall located at Alfred in Allegany County, New York. It was built in 1890-1891 by volunteer firemen as the first home of the A.E. Crandall Hook & Ladder Co. It is a massive three story brick and sandstone structure that features an imposing bell / clock tower. The clock, designed by Seth Thomas, was donated by the Samuel Stillman family after the Village ran out of funds for the hall. [2] The weather vane atop depicts a firefighter on a ladder. The building has housed village offices since the 1970s, as well as village court, police station and meeting hall today. [3]

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. [1]

Alumni Hall (Alfred, New York) United States historic place

Alumni Hall, also known as Chapel Hall, is a historic multipurpose building located on the campus of Alfred University at Alfred in Allegany County, New York. It is a large frame structure built in 1851–1852 with what has been described as Alfred's most important Greek Revival features. The three-story, 52-foot-wide (16 m) by 102-foot-long (31 m) rectangular structure has a red terra cotta roof. Designed and built by Maxson Stillman, it features a one of a kind 12 foot pine weathervane in the shape of a quill pen. It was the fourth structure built for the Alfred Academy and housed a chapel, auditorium and lecture, recitation, library and lyceum rooms for college and community use. It is now used primarily to house the Admissions Department.

Terra Cotta Building is a historic office building and display center located at Alfred in Allegany County, New York. It was built in 1892 by the Celadon Terra Cotta Co and later sold in 1906, to the Ludowici Company of Ohio, which became the Ludowici-Celadon Company. It is a one-story, 16-foot-wide (4.9 m), 25-foot-deep (7.6 m) building built almost entirely of terra cotta bricks, ornamental and roofing tiles manufactured by Celadon. The building was designed as a sales office for the company, and was considered a "catalog" of their work. A replica was erected at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The building was the only remaining structure after a fire broke out on August 29, 1909 and destroyed what was at the time called Ludowici-Celadon Company.

It was built about 1890 and is a two-story, gable roofed, utilitarian frame structure above a cut stone basement. It features a steeply pitched, standing seam metal roof and open belfry with a pyramidal roof. It was originally built as a commercial structure, converted for use as a fire station in 1901, and used as such until 1991.

It was built in 1906-1907 and is a two-story, rectangular brick building with a hipped roof in the Queen Anne style. A small rear addition was built about 1936. It was built for the Exempt Firemen's Benevolent Association of College Point. Although owned by the College Point Little League, the building is used by a number of community groups as a meeting and social hall.

The Owatonna Firemen's Hall, formerly the Owatonna City and Firemen's Hall, is a historic government building in Owatonna, Minnesota, United States. It was built from 1906 to 1907 to house the Owatonna Fire Department and city government offices. The city offices were relocated to the former campus of the Minnesota State Public School for Dependent and Neglected Children in 1974. The Firemen's Hall continues to serve as the headquarters for the Owatonna Fire Department.

Winterset Courthouse Square Commercial Historic District United States historic place

Winterset Courthouse Square Commercial Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located in Winterset, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. At the time of its nomination the district consisted of 82 resources, including 74 contributing buildings, seven noncontributing buildings, and one noncontributing object. The historic district covers most of the city's central business district in the original town plat. Most of the buildings are two-story, brick, commercial buildings. The commercial Italianate style is dominant, with Queen Anne, Romanesque Revival, and Neoclassical styles included. The Madison County Courthouse (1878) is a Renaissance Revival structure designed by Alfred H. Piquenard. Most of the buildings are brick construction, but four were constructed using locally quarried limestone. The stone buildings include the courthouse, the White, Munger and Company Store (1861), and the Sprague, Brown, and Knowlton Store (1866), all of which are individually listed on the National Register.

The Chief Lippert Fire Station, also known as Chemical Engine House No. 1, is a historic fire station built in 1876, two miles north of Milwaukee's central business district. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
