Altamont is a village located in the town of Guilderland in Albany County, New York. The village is in the western part of the town. The population was 1,720 at the 2010 census. The name means "high mountain."

The city has a rich industrial history stretching back to the 19th century, when it became a major railroad hub; In 2020, Albany-Rensselaer was the ninth busiest Amtrak station in the country. Rensselaer was one of the earliest locations of the dye industry in the United States, and was the first American location for the production of aspirin.
Sloatsburg is a village in the town of Ramapo in Rockland County, New York, United States. Located east of Orange County, it is at the southern entrance to Harriman State Park. The population was 3,039 at the 2010 census. The village is named after Stephen Sloat, an early European landowner.

Woodchuck Lodge is a historic house on Burroughs Memorial Road in a remote part of the western Catskills in Roxbury, New York. Built in the mid-19th century, it was the last home of naturalist and writer John Burroughs (1837-1921) from 1908, and is the place of his burial. The property is now managed by the state of New York as the John Burroughs Memorial State Historic Site, and the house is open for tours on weekends between May and October. The property is a National Historic Landmark, designated in 1962 for its association with Burroughs, one of the most important nature writers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Tuthilltown Gristmill is located off Albany Post Road in Gardiner, New York, United States. It was built in 1788, as the National Register reports, and has been expanded several times since.
Sgt. Alvin C. York State Historic Park is a state park in Pall Mall, in the U.S. state of Tennessee. Situated along the Wolf River, the park contains the farm and gristmill once owned by decorated World War I soldier Alvin C. York (1887–1964), who lived in the Pall Mall area for his entire life. Along with the millhouse and milldam, the park includes York's two-story house, York's general store and post office, the Wolf River Cemetery, the Wolf River Methodist Church, the York Bible Institute, and various picnic facilities.

The Nathan Wild House is an historic building in Valatie, Columbia County, New York, United States. Built by Nathan Wild, a prominent local figure, in 1826, the original Federal-style building was continually expanded throughout the years as the Wild family's textile mills in the area flourished. The residence was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 as a result of its historical and architectural significance.

Freeman House is a historic home located at Guilderland in Albany County, New York. The original house was built about 1734; a western addition was built about 1750; and a rear ell was added about 1800. It is a two-story Dutch Colonial house with a gable roof and built of large, smooth finished beams. It is one of the finest and oldest colonial period buildings in Guilderland, and may be the oldest frame house in Guilderland.

The Collins House is a historic building located on the eastside of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1976, and on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties since 1993. Built as a farmhouse in 1860 the city of Davenport purchased the property and renovated it for a senior center in the mid 1970s.
The Lambrite–Iles–Petersen House is an historic home located in the Hamburg Historic District in Davenport, Iowa, United States. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The house was individually listed on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties in 2012. This was the first residence built in the city in the Italian villa style and one of the earliest examples in the state of Iowa. The house is named for three of its early owners: Joseph Lambrite, a lumber mill owner who built the house, Dr. Thomas Iles, a physician, and John H.C. Petersen, who founded Davenport's largest department store that grew to become Von Maur.
