This list is intended to be a complete compilation of properties and districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Rensselaer County, New York, United States. Seven of the properties are further designated National Historic Landmarks.
Sackets Harbor Battlefield State Historic Site is a historically important location in Jefferson County, New York, United States. The historic site is south of the Village of Sackets Harbor, bordering Lake Ontario in the Town of Hounsfield. Two battles were fought near this location during the War of 1812. Some 3,000 men worked at the shipyard building warships, and the village was fortified and garrisoned with thousands of troops.
Williamsbridge Reservoir was a natural lake measuring 13.1 acres (5.3 ha) just south of Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York. Specifically the body of water was located at 208th Street and Bainbridge Avenue. It was shaped like a saucer and was normally 41 feet (12 m) deep. Its water level dropped approximately 14 feet (4.3 m) in mid-August 1901. On April 3, 1934 Commissioner of Water Supply, Gas and Electricity, Maurice P. Davidson, proposed that it be offered to Robert Moses to be used as a park site. The reservoir had ceased to be used after 1919.
The Knox Mansion is a historical mansion at 104 West 2nd Avenue in the city of Johnstown, Fulton County, New York. The house was built in 1889 by the gelatine magnate and businessman Charles Knox, who owned Knox Gelatine, which had a factory in Johnstown. The Classical Revival mansion, which was designed by Peabody & Beauley and Linn Kane, has 42 rooms, an elevator, a grand staircase, and a solid lava ash fireplace which was imported from a castle in Italy. The house cost $1.2 million to build in 1889.
Delaware Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as Asbury-Delaware Methodist Church, is a historic Methodist Episcopal Church located at Buffalo in Erie County, New York. It was constructed in two phases between 1871 and 1876 and is a distinct example of High Victorian Gothic ecclesiastical architecture. In 2006, the structure became home to Righteous Babe Records, and known as "The Church" or "Babeville".

Two properties, both buildings, that had been listed in the past but have since been demolished have been delisted; one building that is also no longer extant remains listed.
H. H. Warner Building is a historic office building located at Rochester in Monroe County, New York. It is a large, seven-story commercial building built in 1883–1884. It is constructed of load-bearing brick walls, a cast-iron vault, timber framework, and a cast-iron facade on St. Paul St. Originally built to house a patent medicine laboratory and warehouse, it now houses office and storage facilities. The building has a Venetian Gothic style.
Elmsford Reformed Church and Cemetery is a historic Dutch Reformed church/meeting house and cemetery at 30 S. Central Avenue in Elmsford, Westchester County, New York. It was built in 1793 and is a two-story, wood-frame building. It is constructed of hand-hewn beams, shingles, and hand-wrought nails. Most of the ornamentation in the church dates to the 1820s. It is almost identical to nearby Old St. Peter's Church. The cemetery dates to the 18th century and includes the graves of a number of Revolutionary War veterans including Isaac Van Wart.
Old St. Peter's Church and Old Cemetery, also known as St. Peter's Church of Cortlandt is a historic Episcopal church and cemetery at Oregon Road and Locust Avenue in Van Cortlandtville, Westchester County, New York. The church was built in 1766 and measures 28 feet by 36 feet. It is a wood frame building sheathed in clapboards and was restored in 1964. The nearby Elmsford Reformed Church was built in 1793 and is a close replica.

Municipal Building, also known as Old City Hall, is a historic city hall building located at Oneonta in Otsego County, New York. It is three story masonry building with an ornate facade of painted brick and terra cotta, built in 1906 in the Beaux-Arts style. A central tetrastyle pavilion in the Ionic order dominates the upper floors. In 1978 a neocolonial clock tower was erected on the roof. It housed the municipal government until 1980, when they moved to the Old Post Office building.
Fairchild Mansion is a historic home located at Oneonta in Otsego County, New York. It is a three-story brick building with a turret, gables, a pedimented entrance porch and a porte cochere in the Queen Anne style. The original house was built in 1867 and subsequently expanded and modernized in 1897 and 1915 by its owner, George W. Fairchild (1845-1924). The home was taken over by Oneonta Masonic Lodge in 1929.
US Post Office-Jamaica Main is a historic post office building located at the northwest corner of 164th Street and 89th Avenue in Jamaica in Queens County, New York, United States. It serves the 11432 ZIP Code. It was built in 1932–1934, and is one of two post offices in New York City designed by the architects Cross & Cross as a consultant to the Office of the Supervising Architect. The building is a two-story brick building on a light gray granite base with marble trim in the Colonial Revival style. It features a handsome marble portico supported by four Ionic order columns.
Abraham Houghtaling House is a historic home located at Coeymans Landing in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1830 and is a two-story, rectangular, heavy timber frame Greek Revival style dwelling. It features a projecting center entry bay and a single story porch. It has a rubble stone foundation and a broad, overhanging gable roof. Also on the property is a contributing smoke house.
House at 176 Prospect Avenue is a historic home located at Sea Cliff in Nassau County, New York. It was built in 1886 and is a 2 1⁄2-story, clapboard residence with a cross-gable, slate-covered roof in the Queen Anne style. It features a 3-story square tower with a hipped roof and board and batten cornice.

It was built about 1890 and is a two-story house with decorative slate jerkinhead roof in the Late Victorian style. It features a three-bay shed-roof dormer that forms the second floor and covers the entrance porch. It is identical to the House at 199 Prospect Avenue.
House at 362 Sea Cliff Avenue is a historic home located at Sea Cliff in Nassau County, New York. It was built about 1875 and expanded in 1890. It consists of a three-bay, 2-story main section with a mansard roof and 1 1⁄2-story gable-roofed wing in the Second Empire style. It features a shed-roofed porch with scrollsawn corner brackets.

It was built in 1895 and is a two-story clapboard-sided residence with a slate-covered hipped roof in the Late Victorian style.
