Humber College is a below-grade light rail transit (LRT) station that is under construction on Line 6 Finch West, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. The station will be located at the southwest corner of Highway 27 and Humber College Boulevard on the Humber Polytechnic North Campus in Etobicoke, Toronto. The station will be the western terminus of Line 6, [3] [1] which is expected to open by the end of 2024. [4] A walkway will connect the LRT station to the nearby Humber College Bus Terminal. [5] [6]
The station will be located below street level in an open trench running parallel to Highway 27. The station will have two street-level entrances, one entrance on the south side of Humber College Boulevard, the second further south facing a new street that will intersect with Highway 27. [1] The entrance structures will be at least 7.5 m (25 ft) in height, and will each face a plaza. [7] : 17 The centre platform will have several canopies for weather protection. The lack of a roof over the trench will allow natural lighting on the platform. [8] : 9 An exterior walkway with a 200-metre (660 ft) canopy will link the station to the Humber Polytechnic campus. [5] [6] The station will have a bike room to accommodate 40 bicycles, two elevators for accessibility, [9] Wi-Fi and washrooms. [8] : 11
Besides Humber Polytechnic, the station will also serve Etobicoke General Hospital located at the southeast corner of Humber College Boulevard and Highway 27. [10]
The station will have two tracks servicing an island platform. [11] North of the station, the line continues in a trench beside Highway 27 until Finch Avenue West, where it enters a short tunnel curving east under the intersection. Exiting the tunnel, it rises to the surface to run along the centre of Finch towards the Westmore stop and eventually its eastern terminus at Finch West station. [12] : 17 [7] : 17
Humber College Bus Terminal was opened on September 1, 2015. It is located on the Humber Polytechnic North Campus, approximately 300 metres (980 ft) west of Humber College station. The terminal is served by the TTC, Miway, Brampton Transit, Züm, and York Region Transit. [13]
The bus terminal is bounded by the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation to the south, Aboretum Boulevard to the east, Spruce Vista on the north side and Silver Bell Lane on the west side. The terminal has 10 bus bays: 6 bays are along an island platform on the south side of Spruce Vista, 3 bays are along a side platform next to the Barrett Centre, and 1 platform is on the west side of Silver Bell Lane. Platforms have waiting shelters and next bus displays. [14]

Transit City was a plan for developing public transport in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was first proposed and announced on 16 March 2007 by Toronto mayor David Miller and Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) chair Adam Giambrone. The plan called for the construction of seven new light rail lines along the streets of seven priority transit corridors, which would have eventually been integrated with existing rapid transit, streetcar, and bus routes. Other transit improvements outlined in the plan included upgrading and extending the Scarborough RT line, implementing new bus rapid transit lines, and improving frequency and timing of 21 key bus routes. The plan integrated public transportation objectives outlined in the City of Toronto Official Plan, the TTC Ridership Growth Strategy and Miller's 2006 election platform.
Line 5 Eglinton, also known as the Eglinton Crosstown LRT or the Crosstown, is a light rail transit line that is under construction in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to expand and improve public transportation in the Greater Toronto Area. Owned by Metrolinx and operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), the line will be part of the Toronto subway system. However, in April 2019, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced the province's plans for rapid transit development and funding for the Greater Toronto Area that omitted the Jane LRT.

The line will operate in a dedicated above-ground right-of-way, much of it within Finch Avenue, segregated from street traffic. The line will use transit signal priority and standard gauge rather than the broad Toronto gauge. The line is forecast to carry about 14.6 million rides a year or 40,000 a day by 2031 and will replace the 36B Finch West bus route, which is one of the three busiest bus routes in Toronto. In 2023, Line 6 was expected to open within the first half of 2024, with an estimated cost of CA$2.5 billion. In early December 2024, Councillor Jamaal Myers, chairman of the TTC board, stated that the TTC did not expect Line 6 to open before June 2025 at the earliest.
