Lamban is a traditional dessert for the Bruneian Malay people, Kedayan in Labuan and in the states of Sabah, Malaysia. [2] The taste of Lamban is almost like the Malays ketupat or the Chinese's rice dumplings and kelupis of Lun Bawang / Lundayeh. [2]

Victoria, sometimes known as Bandar Labuan, is the capital of the Federal Territory of Labuan in Malaysia, an island group off the north coast of Borneo. It is in the southeast corner of Labuan and its Malay name, Bandar Victoria, is commonly used to honour the reign of Queen Victoria. Bruneian Malays are a native Malay ethnic group that lives in Brunei, the federal territory of Labuan, the southwestern coast of Sabah and the northern parts of Sarawak. The Bruneian Malays are a subgroup of the larger ethnic Malay population found in the other parts of the Malay World, namely Peninsular Malaysia and the central and southern areas of Sarawak including neighbouring lands such as Singapore, Indonesia and Southern Thailand, having visible differences especially in language and culture, even though they are ethnically related to each other and follow the teachings of Islam. All Bruneian Malays who are born or domiciled in East Malaysia even for generations before or after the independence of the states of Sabah and Sarawak from the British Empire through the formation of Malaysia in 1963 are also considered Malaysian Malays in the national census and were in the same status like the Malaysian Malays domiciled in Peninsular Malaysian states and the central and southern parts of Sarawak. They are also defined as a part of the Bumiputera racial classification together as a subgroup within the Malaysian Malay ethnic population along with the Kadazan-Dusuns, Ibans, Malaccan Portuguese and the Malaysian Siamese.

He is a member of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition which is aligned with the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition who has served as Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities I for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin from August 2021 to November 2022. He served his first term in the PN administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Khairuddin Razali from March 2020 to August 2021 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Tanjung Piai since November 2019 after the death of Mohamed Farid Md Rafik and from March 2008 to May 2018. He served as Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports in the BN administration under former Prime Ministers Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Razak as well as former Ministers Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Ahmad Shabery Cheek from March 2008 to his defeat in the 2010 MCA leadership election in June 2010 and Member of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Pekan Nanas from March 2004 to March 2008.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is the main hospital for the city and the whole of Sabah as well as the alternate feeder general hospital for the neighbouring Federal Territory of Labuan, but also accommodates patients from the neighbouring state of Sarawak as well as far as the neighbouring countries/regions of Brunei and also North Kalimantan, Indonesia, the other being the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching, Sarawak.

Datuk Mohamaddin bin Ketapi is a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020. He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Lahad Datu from October 2019 to November 2022 and for Silam from May 2018 to October 2019, Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Segama since September 2020 and Lahad Datu from August 1986 to October 1990. He also served as the State Assistant Minister of Industrial and Rural Development of Sabah in the United Sabah Party (PBS) state administration under former Chief Minister Joseph Pairin Kitingan from 1986 to 1990. He is a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He was also member of the Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM), member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalitions, member of the Heritage Party (WARISAN) and member of the PBS. He has also served as the 1st State Chairman of PBM of Sabah since August 2022. On 30 October 2021, he left WARISAN and became independent in support for GRS. Later, he officially became a member of BERSATU on 26 November 2021. However on 28 June 2022, he left BERSATU and became independent again in support for BN and GRS ruling coalitions after joining it only seven months prior. He then joined PBM and was appointed as its State Chairman of Sabah exactly two months later after leaving BERSATU on 28 August 2022.
Datuk Rozman Isli is a Malaysian politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Labuan from May 2013 to November 2022. He is a member and Division Chairman of Labuan of the Heritage Party (WARISAN), a party aligned with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) opposition coalition and was a member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the ruling BN coalition which is aligned with the ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition. He was elected in the 2013 and 2018 general elections on the BN ticket. However, in October 2018, he left BN and UMNO for WARISAN. On 31 March 2019, he won the party position of the Division Chairman of Labuan of WARISAN by walkover. He was also the Chairman of Labuan Corporation Advisory Council from 2018 to 2020.
