Leis Block is a historic commercial building located at Saranac Lake in the town of Harrietstown, Franklin County, New York. It was built in 1902 and is a three-story wood-frame structure. Renovations between 1910 and 1914 that added the current brick front, resulted in four full apartments, each containing a central inset sleeping porch. The storefronts once were occupied by Henry Leis's piano and music store and Earl Finegan's pharmacy. Henry Leis, who owned the block until his death in 1940, also built the Leis Cottage. The current structure has ten apartments and two storefronts. [2] The pharmacy at one time was named Terminal Pharmacy because it was the bus stop. Later it was renamed Hoffman Pharmacy.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. [1]

The district includes the previously listed main Clifton Springs Sanitarium and Foster Cottage. The expansion includes all the surrounding structures directly associated with the sanitarium during the historic period and the remaining intact portion of the original landscaped grounds. The additional structures include the Foster Block ; the YMCA (1879), the current sanitarium (1896), Maxwell Hall (1926), and the Woodbury Building with connecting pavilion (1927).
Oneonta Theatre is a historic theatre building located at Oneonta in Otsego County, New York. The original structure was built about 1897 and expanded in several stages. The original three story structure was a generally rectangular block with storefronts and theater entrance on the first floor and apartments above. A theater wing projected from the rear was set at a 45-degree angle. In 1922, the theater was expanded and the entrance relocated to the center of the building. The 1922 marquee was removed in the 1970s.
Johnson Cottage is a historic cure cottage located at Saranac Lake in the town of Harrietstown, Franklin County, New York. It was built about 1896 and is a two-story frame structure, square in form and surmounted by a metal hipped roof. The roof extends on all four sides to subsidiary hipped roofs covering an unusual number of porches. It contains two apartments and each has four porches, added to the building about 1915. It features "over-under" verandahs at the southwest and northeast corners.
Leis Cottage, also known as Camp Leisure, is a historic cure cottage located at Saranac Lake in the town of Harrietstown, Franklin County, New York. It was built in 1904 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, L-shaped wood-frame structure with a gable roof and projecting cross-gable in the Queen Anne style. It has a large verandah and second story sleeping porch. It features a cobblestone chimney and porte cochere. Henry Leis, who operated a piano and music store, also owned the Leis Block.
The George S. Abbott Building, also known as Wheeler and Wilson Building and Abbott Towers Apartments, is a historic mixed-use residential and commercial building at 245-247 North Main Street in Waterbury, Connecticut. Built in 1899, it is locally unusual for its all-masonry construction, and its unique adaptation to a triangular lot. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
The Ficke Block is a historic building located in downtown Davenport, Iowa, United States. It was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. In 2020 it was included as a contributing property in the Davenport Downtown Commercial Historic District.
The Henry Kuehle Investment Property, also known as the Gottsacker Grocery Building, in southeast Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon is a two-story commercial building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in Bungalow/Craftsman style in 1909, it was added to the register in 1989.
The Baker-Devotie-Hollingsworth Block is an historic building located in the East Village of Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The eastern two-thirds of the block was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 as the Studio Building. The western one-third was added to the National Register in 2008, and its name was changed at that time. In 2019 the entire building was included as a contributing property in the East Des Moines Commercial Historic District.
The Todd Block is a historic commercial and civic building at 27-31 Main Street in Hinsdale, New Hampshire. It consists of two separate buildings that were conjoined in 1895, creating an architecturally diverse structure. The front portion of the building is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure with Second Empire styling; it is only one of two commercial buildings built in that style in the town, and the only one still standing. It was built in 1862, and originally housed shops on the ground floor and residential apartments above. The front of the block has a full two-story porch, with turned posts, decorative brackets and frieze moulding. The corners of the building are pilastered, and the mansard roof is pierced by numerous pedimented dormers. The rear section of the building was built in 1895 as a hall for the local chapter of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF). The principal feature of this three-story structure is its east facade, which has a richly decorated two-story Queen Anne porch.
Sibley and Holmwood Candy Factory and Witkop and Holmes Headquarters, also known as the Weed & Company Building, are two connected historic commercial buildings located in downtown Buffalo, Erie County, New York. The Sibley & Holmwood Candy Factory was built in 1896 and is a five-story, nine-bay-wide brick commercial block with late-Gothic detailing. It features Gothic window arches, decorative cast-iron columns on the storefront, and corbelled cornice. The Witkop & Holmes Headquarters was designed by the architectural firm Bethune, Bethune & Fuchs and built in 1901. It is a four-story, three-bay-wide brick commercial block. Both buildings have flat roofs. The building has been renovated to house loft apartments.
Maxbilt Theatre is a historic theater located at Fleischmanns, Delaware County, New York. It was built in 1929, and is a two-story, brick, concrete block, and stucco building. It measures 65 feet wide and 185 feet deep, and consists of three sections: a five-bay by three-bay main block,, a large auditorium, and a one-story, rectangular concrete block rear section. It is an intact example of a small regional theater built during the heyday of the Catskills resort era.
The New Center Commercial Historic District is a commercial historic district located on Woodward Avenue between Baltimore Street and Grand Boulevard in Detroit, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.
The Mayo Building is a historic commercial building at Main and East Streets in downtown Northfield, Vermont. Built in 1902, it is a prominent and imposing example of Classical Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
The Ziepprecht Block is a historic building located in Dubuque, Iowa, United States. Completed in 1888, it is a fine example of transitional commercial Italianate architecture. The three-story brick structure features a heavy projecting cornice and rounded pediment from the Italianate, with larger paired windows from the Second Empire style, and three-sided bay windows from the Queen Anne style. It is also one of a small number of double storefront blocks that remain in the downtown area. The building is named for Henry Ziepprecht a German-born druggist who settled in Dubuque in 1856 and died in 1887. His estate paid to have this building constructed on the location of an older building that housed his drug store. Now managed by Joseph Wittmer, the drug store and a confectionery were the first businesses to occupy the storefronts. The upper floors housed apartments. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
240 Central Park South is a residential building in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Designed by Albert Mayer and Julian Whittlesey, it was built between 1939 and 1940 by the J.H. Taylor Construction Company, an enterprise of the Mayer family. 240 Central Park South is designed in a combination of the Art Deco and Moderne styles, with over 300 apartments.
