Bulgaria's Ministry of Defence invited 24 companies in the country and abroad to bid to supply 14 tactical reconnaissance drones for military use.

The first lot involves the supply of 12 mini drone systems, and the second lot involves delivery of 2 small UAVs. In the end, a Greek company based in Athens was ranked first for the delivery of the 12 mini drone systems. A company from Israel has been selected to supply 2 small UAVs. [46]

The Bulgarian Ministry of Defence plans to acquire new 155 mm artillery systems.Some of the requirements are for the artillery to be wheeled for mobility and to have an armored hull. The favorites for this project are CAESAR by Nexter Systems and ATMOS 2000 by Elbit Systems . [47] [48]

The Bulgarian Land Forces are the ground warfare branch of the Bulgarian Armed Forces. It is administered by the Ministry of Defence, previously known as the Ministry of War during the Kingdom of Bulgaria. The Land Forces were established in 1878, when they were composed of anti-Ottoman militia (opalchentsi) and were the only branch of the Bulgarian military.

Bulgaria is a NATO member country with a large indigenous defence industry. Most of its weaponry is of Soviet design, but with significantly improved performance. Bulgaria is ranked as a "medium" small arms exporter according to the Small Arms Survey.

The COVID-19 vaccination in Bulgaria is an immunization campaign currently taking place against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that is the cause of the COVID-19 disease. It began on 27 December 2020, in line with most other countries in the EU, and is in response to the ongoing pandemic in Bulgaria. The vaccination drive was affected by organizational and supply-related issues during the initial months while since the spring of 2021 vaccine hesitancy has contributed significantly to the country having the lowest rate of inoculations in the EU, with 35% of Bulgaria's adult citizens, and 30% of its eligible population, fully vaccinated by May 2022.

The Left! is a Bulgarian centre-left to left-wing political coalition established on 12 February 2023. The members of the coalition are Alternative for Bulgarian Revival, Movement 21, Agrarian Union "Aleksandar Stamboliyski", Bulgarian Progressive Line, Georgi Kadiev's Normal State and BSP splinter faction led by Valeri Zhablyanov. Stand Up.BG, led by Maya Manolova, was part of the coalition until April 2024.
