Qian Qichen was a Chinese diplomat and politician. He served as Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Politburo member from 1992 to 2002, China's Foreign Minister from April 1988 to March 1998, and as Vice Premier from March 1993 to March 2003. Since then, no other diplomat-turned-politician has attained such a lofty status in China's political hierarchy. Qian played a critical role in shaping China's foreign policy during CCP general secretary Jiang Zemin's administration, and was a key player handling the return to Chinese sovereignty of Hong Kong and Macau. He was in charge of border negotiations with the Soviet Union in the 1980s, resulting in a successful settlement of the border dispute and the thawing of the relations between China and Russia. He was also instrumental in handling China's normalization of relations with the West in the difficult period after the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.
Jiang Yu is a Chinese diplomat who serves as the special representative for cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. She previously served as the spokesperson within the ministry, and as Chinese ambassador to Albania (2015-2018) and Romania (2019-2012).
Liu Jianchao is a Chinese diplomat and politician who is the current head of the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party, in office since June 2022.

Hong Lei is a Chinese diplomat and politician, serving as Head of the Department of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was Chinese Consul General in Chicago from 2016 to 2018 and served as spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2010 to 2016. Hong was the 25th spokesperson since the spokesperson system was established in the ministry in 1983.
Qin Gang is a Chinese former diplomat and politician who served as the 12th Minister of Foreign Affairs of China from December 2022 to July 2023 and as State Councillor of China from March to October 2023.

He was spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and deputy director of its information department.
Hao Ting was a Chinese diplomat. He was born in Dengzhou, Henan. He was Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Afghanistan (1958–1965).
Xu Feihong is a Chinese diplomat. He served as the Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan from 2011 to 2013 and Chinese Ambassador to Romania from 2015 to 2019.

Wang Wenbin is a Chinese politician and diplomat who currently serves as a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, deputy director of the Foreign Ministry Information Department, and member of the Chinese Communist Party. He is the 32nd spokesperson since the position was established in the ministry back in 1983. He served as the Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia from 2018 to 2020, and has worked in Chinese embassies in Mauritius and Senegal.
