The 2008 Michigan House of Representatives elections were held on November 4, 2008, with partisan primaries to select the parties' nominees in the various districts on August 5, 2008. [1]
The Michigan House of Representatives is the lower house of the Michigan Legislature. There are 110 members, each of whom is elected from constituencies having approximately 77,000 to 91,000 residents, based on population figures from the 2010 U.S. Census. Its composition, powers, and duties are established in Article IV of the Michigan Constitution.

The Michigan Legislature is the legislature of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is organized as a bicameral body composed of an upper chamber, the Senate, and a lower chamber, the House of Representatives. Article IV of the Michigan Constitution, adopted in 1963, defines the role of the Legislature and how it is to be constituted. The primary purpose of the Legislature is to enact new laws and amend or repeal existing laws. The Legislature meets in the Capitol building in Lansing.

Captain James K. Dressel was an Air Force pilot, and a Michigan politician in the 1970s and early 1980s. Although he was a conservative Republican, in 1983 he co-sponsored the state's first bill to protect gay and lesbian people from discrimination in employment and housing. He was profiled in Randy Shilts' book Conduct Unbecoming in the chapter "Heroes".
Kathy Angerer is currently the Acting City Manager, and former Director of Community & Economic Development and Community and Governmental Affairs for the city of Hamtramck, Michigan (2013), and was Executive Director of Government Affairs at AT&T Michigan from 2011-2013. From 2005-2010, she served as Democratic State Representative in the Michigan State House of Representatives, representing the 55th House District which covers parts of Monroe County and Washtenaw County. During her final term ending in 2010, she served as the Majority Floor Leader of the Michigan House of Representatives.
Leon Drolet is a Michigan Republican politician and elected Macomb County Commissioner. He is a political activist known for his libertarian views. From 2001 to 2006 Drolet served in the Michigan House of Representatives. Drolet also served as a Macomb County, Michigan county commissioner from 1999–2000 and from 2006–2008.
Kate Segal is serving her third term as State Representative for the 62nd House District, which covers much of Calhoun County and includes the cities of Battle Creek, Springfield and Albion, and seven townships: Albion, Bedford, Clarence, Convis, Lee, Pennfield, and Sheridan.
