Ondo State University of Science and Technology also known as OSUSTech but now renamed the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa is a state owned university located in Okitipupa in the Southern Senatorial District of Ondo State, Nigeria. The university emerged 9th in the National University Commission (NUC) ranking as one of the best 10 state-owned universities in Nigeria in 2021. [1]

OSUSTECH was established in 2008 by the Ondo State Government under the leadership of Dr. Olusegun Agagu. [2] The university commenced academic activities in January 2011, and currently offers various programmes of study under Faculty of Science. In 2017, two new faculties were introduced which include: 1. Faculty of Agriculture & Agricultural Technology; 2. Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technology.

The university was renamed after the late Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu in 2020 in recognition of his immense role in the establishment of the institution. [3]

The Faculty of Engineering has the following departments:

  1. Mechanical engineering
  2. Electrical engineering
  3. Civil engineering

The current vice chancellor is Prof. Sunday Roberts Ogunduyile. In December 2020, the Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu approved the appointment of Prof. Temi Emmanuel Ologunorisa as the next Vice Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa. The appointment takes effect from Feb. 23, 2022. [4]

Olusegun Kokumo Agagu was a Nigerian politician who was Governor of Ondo State in Nigeria from 29 May 2003 until February 2009, when a court voided his re-election as governor on account of electoral irregularities. He was replaced as Governor of Ondo State by Olusegun Mimiko, his political rival, based on a court injunction. His name, Olusegun, means "God is victorious". He was a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The first two-term governor of Ondo state and the first Labour Party governor in Nigeria. Boluwaji Kunlere is a Nigerian politician who was elected Senator for Ondo South, in Ondo State, Nigeria in the April 2011 national elections. He was elected on the Labour Party platform.

University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (UNIMED) is a university of medical sciences in Ondo City, Nigeria, owned by the Ondo State Government, established in 2015. It is the third specialized medical university in Africa and Nigeria's first specialized medical university to be accredited by the National Universities Commission.

Prof. Sunday Roberts Ogunduyile is a Nigerian academic and academic administrator. A Professor of Industrial Design, he has served as Dean of School of Environmental Technology at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) and as Director of FUTA Business Development Company. He is currently Vice Chancellor of Ondo State University of Science and Technology.
