Western Delta University is located in Oghara, Delta State, Nigeria. It was established in 2007 and is a private university.^[1]^[2] The National Universities Commission NUC, Nigeria has officially approved Western Delta University WDU.^[3]

Western Delta University was founded by a group of Urhobo Scholars under the auspices of the Urhobo Advancement Foundation (UAF) who saw the need for a privately financed university in the wetlands of Delta State, Nigeria. Since its establishment in 2007, WDU has offered access to a wide range of academic opportunities.^[4]^[5]

Admission

Western Delta University admits students via JAMB UTME and Direct Entry into various courses. Requirements for admission into Western Delta University are GCE O/Level, SSCE, NECO or NABTEB credit level passes in at least five (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and one relevant science or social science subject obtained at not more than two (2) sittings. Direct Entry candidates are expected to possess a good Diploma (with minimum of lower credit), NCE (with minimum of merit) from recognized institutions OR 2 Advanced Level GCE passes in relevant subjects.

It also houses the 222 Battalion of the Nigerian Army and the now moribund SuperBru, a malt producing company.

Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agriculture and Technology (OSISATECH) is a privately owned polytechnic in Enugu, Enugu State, Nigeria established in 1989.

Niger Delta University (NDU) is in Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State in the southern part of Nigeria. It was established in 2000. It is a Bayelsa state government-funded university. In 2002, It was established by Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha, then governor of Bayelsa state. It has two main campuses, one in the state capital, Yenagoa, which contains the law faculty, and the other in Amassoma. It also has its teaching hospital known as Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH) in Okolobiri.

Gombe State University (GSU) is located in Tudun Wada, an area in Shamaki Ward, Gombe,Gombe State, Nigeria. It is located in the Northern part of Nigeria. It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The state university has a Chancellor and 11-members of the governing council, as well as principal officers and management staff. Abdullahi Mahadi was the first vice chancellor of the university.

Novena University is the first private university in Delta State located in Ogume, Delta State, Nigeria. Novena University was established to meet the yearnings and aspirations of Nigeria youths and women who are unable to get admitted for their academic career into existing tertiary institutions which cannot give opportunities or accommodate a good percentage of those seek or apply to them each year in Nigeria for admission. Novena University was Founded in the year 2005, Novena University being a private higher-education institution located presently in Ogume, of Delta State, Nigeria. Novena University also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.

Ajayi Crowther University is a private, faith-based university located in Oyo State, Nigeria.

Taraba State University also known as TSU is located in Jalingo, Taraba State Nigeria. The university was established by the Taraba State Government in 2008, to widen access to university education for Taraba State indigenes and promote economic growth and development in the state particularly and the country at large.

Kaduna State University is located in Kaduna, Kaduna State, Nigeria. It was established in 2004. It has sixteen faculties with over 50 departments. The School has two main campuses: Kafanchan and Kaduna.

University of Cross River State also known as UNICROSS is a state-owned tertiary institution with four campuses spread across four Local Government Areas of the state. The University was formerly known as the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH). It was renamed in February of 2021 by a bill passed at Cross River State House of Assembly which was then approved by the former Governor of the State, Benedict Ayade. The change of the tertiary institution's name was to enable the varsity function as a conventional University, which provides the opportunity to offer more professional courses rather focusing on tech-related courses. The present Vice Chancellor of the institution is Prof Augustine Angba.

Hezekiah University is an approved private university in Nigeria by federal government council. It is located in Umudi, Nkwerre Imo State Nigeria.

KolaDaisi University also known as KDU, is a private University in Ibadan, Oyo State. The university was founded by Chief KolaDaisi, CON, Bashorun of Ibadan as its Proprietor. It is associated with the KolaDaisi Foundation (KDF). KolaDaisi University (KDU), after approval by the Federal Executive Council, was licensed by the National Universities Commission to operate as a private university in November 2016.

The Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba is a federal government Higher Education institution located in Asaba City, Delta State, Nigeria. It is affiliated to University of Benin (Nigeria) for its degree programmes. The College began in 1987 at the former Asaba Technical College, (ATC) at its temporary site. Asaba is a rapidly developing Urban Centre and the administrative headquarters of Delta State. Currently, the Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba is Josephine Anene-Okakwa.
