KolaDaisi University also known as KDU, is a private University in Ibadan, Oyo State. The university was founded by Chief KolaDaisi, CON, Bashorun of Ibadan as its Proprietor. It is associated with the KolaDaisi Foundation (KDF). KolaDaisi University (KDU), after approval by the Federal Executive Council, was licensed by the National Universities Commission to operate as a private university in November 2016. Course accreditation

The National University Commission NUC has granted approval for KolaDaisi University to offer nursing, Medical laboratory science and some basic medical science courses. The approval letter was directed to Prof. Adeniyi Olatunbosun SAN, the Vice-Chancellor of KolaDaisi University, on the 8 June 2023, and signed by Dr. N.B. Saliu, the Director of Academic Planning. The Vice-Chancellor, said the accreditation is important to show that KolaDaisi University is committed to realizing its mission and vision. He highlighted that the faculty of Basic Medical Science courses are well-equipped and ready. [9] [10]


Admission requirements

Aspirants seeking admission into KolaDaisi University Ibadan should have chosen the university as first choice in the Jamb UTME registration and must score above 140 and also should have a minimum of 5 O level credit pass in senior secondary school certificate be it WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB, that is obtained in not more than two sittings and must include English, Mathematics, and any other relevant subjects. [11]

School fees reduction/scholarship

The school reduces its school fees and provides scholarship to students in the school in order to make education easy and accessible to students who are unable to afford the fees. [12]

KolaDaisi University Ibadan Oyo State is ranked 121st position in Nigeria University. [13]

Chancellor appointment

On the 4 November 2021, the school announced the appointment of the new first chancellor of the institution. It was made known on the maiden convocation of the school. [14]

Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo also knowns as FCES OYO was established on October 5, 1977, as Federal Advanced Teacher's college (Special). The institution, according to a UNDP/UNESCO 1996 report (NIR/87/008) "... Has the best qualified Staff in Special Education not only in Nigeria but in West, North, East and Central Africa." The College is the only one of its kind in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. It has the largest conglomeration of disabled students that could be found in any Higher Institution in Nigeria and the largest concentration of specialized facilities for teaching and training of teachers of the Handicapped in Nigeria. During its 40th anniversary celebration, the college gave special recognition award to former President Olusegun Obasanjo whose military administration brought about the upgrading of the Institution from the then Federal Advanced Teachers College to a College of Education with the mandate to award the National Certificate of Education in 1977.
