Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH) (formerly Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil (KUST Wudil)) is located along Gaya/Dutse Road, Wudil LGA of Kano state. The university commenced academic activities in the year 2001 and a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. [1] [2] [3]
The University was formerly known as Kano University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil. The University is ranked 123rd in the list of Best Universities in Nigeria. The then Governor of Kano state, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso proposed establishing the university during his first tenure from 1999 to 2003. [4] The university was renamed to Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil in the year 2022 by the Governor of the state Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. [5]
The University Library was established in 2001 with the objectives of support teaching, learning and research activities of the university through systematic acquisition and organization of modern information resource in all field of study patent to the goal of the university. [6] [7]

The University started with two faculties, the Faculty of Agriculture and Agriculture Technology and the Faculty of Science. It has now grown into six other faculties such as The Faculty of Agriculture and Agriculture Technology(FAAT), Faculty of Computing and Mathematical Science(FACMS), Faculty of Earth and Environmental Science(FAEES), Faculty of Science and Technical Education (FASTE). The state's capital and largest city is the city of Kano, the second most populous city in Nigeria after Lagos. The incumbent governor of the state is Abba Kabir Yusuf. He was sworn in on 29 May 2023.

In 2002, It was established by Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha, then governor of Bayelsa state. It has two main campuses, one in the state capital, Yenagoa, which contains the law faculty, and the other in Amassoma. It also has its teaching hospital known as Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital (NDUTH) in Okolobiri.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is a Nigerian politician who served as the governor of Kano State from 2015 to 2023. He previously served as Rabiu Kwankwaso's deputy governor twice, from 1999 to 2003 and from 2011 to 2015. He is a member and national chairman of the ruling Party All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abba Kabir Yusuf is a Nigerian politician who has served as governor of Kano State since May 2023. He served as commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport when Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso was re-elected for a second term in the executive council of Kano State from 2011 to 2015.
The 2023 Kano State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Kano State, concurrent with elections to the Kano State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term. Abba Kabir Yusuf of New Nigerian People won the election.
