The Pravasi Nivasi Party (PNP) is or was a political party launched in Kerala in 2015. A group of non-resident Keralites decided to form the party to fight for the rights of the paravasi (non-resident Keralites). [2] [3]

Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award

The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman is an award constituted by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India in conjunction with the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, to honour exceptional and meritorious contribution in their chosen field/profession. Kerala is a state in south-western India. Most of Kerala's 34.8 million people are ethnically Malayalis. World Malayalee Council

The World Malayalee Council(Malayalam: ലോക മലയാളി പരിഷദ് Loka Malayali Parishad) or abbreviated as WMC was formed on July 3, 1995 in New Jersey. It was inaugurated at the first ever World Convention of Non Resident Malayalees. The main objective of this organization is to provide a non-political forum to bring together the widely scattered community of people of Malayalee/Keralite origin and strengthen the common bonds of culture, tradition and way of life. WMC works towards an international brotherhood of Malayalees/people of Kerala origin to bolster their cultural, artistic and social uniqueness and give resilience and understanding towards other cultures with which they have to co-exist and interact.

The Non Resident Keralites Affairs abbreviated as NORKA is a department of the Government of Kerala formed on 6 December 1996 to redress the grievances of Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs). It is the first of its kind formed in any Indian state. The department was formed in an attempt to strengthen the relationship between the NRKs and the Government of Kerala and to institutionalise the administrative framework. The field agency of NORKA is known as the NORKA Roots, which was set up in 2002 to act as an interface between the NRKs and the Kerala Government. It also acts as a forum for addressing the NRKs problem, safeguarding their rights and rehabilitating the returnees.

The National Political Conference was held on February 13–15, 2009 at Kozhikode in Kerala. It was organized by several social organizations in India such as the Lilong Social Forum, the Manitha Neethi Pasare, the Karnataka Forum for Dignity and the Popular Front of India. Pravasam is a 2008 Malayalam novel written by M. Mukundan. According to the author, the novel is an attempt to re-define nostalgia which is thought to be the essence of life of non-resident Malayalis and to pay respect to hundreds of thousands of Malayalis living as non-resident Keralites in different parts of the world. It is a novel that travels through generations. It depicts a clear picture of the life stories of various persons living in various parts of the world as non-resident Keralites. It explains us about the different kinds of feelings of various kinds of people who had left their homeland for various reasons. These reasons include the emigration for the sake of seeking a better profession, for studies, for getting a better class of living and so on. But almost all of them dreams of returning to their homeland one day and enjoying the homeliness. One of the issues the books addresses is the question of cultural identity of the Malayali. A notable fact about the novel is that renowned Malayalam author S. K. Pottekkatt is a major character in the narrative. In the beginning, the narration is given such that, story is told by Pottekkatt and after his death, it was completed by Mukundan. Even, the narrator, himself is a non-resident Keralite and has many experiences to share with the readers. Whatever amenities the emigration life had provided them, each one of them, deep in their mind had a strong desire to come back to their native land one day. This uncontrolled emotions and sentiments of Malayalis towards their homeland is clearly illustrated in the story.

P.V.Radhakrishna Pillai or Plavalil Kizhakkethil Vasudevan Radhakrishna Pillai is a non-resident Indian living in Bahrain. He was born in Mavelikara, in Alappuzha district Kerala of India.

Loka Kerala Sabha is an event hosted by the state government of Kerala to bring Keralites living around the globe under one platform. It was hosted under the department of Non-Keralite Residents. It aims at utilizing the expertise of Non-Resident Keralites (NRK) for developing Kerala state. Loka Kerala Sabha is proposed to happen once in two years.
