Trans Ganga City

Trans Ganga City is an under construction satellite township in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh in Unnao district which comes under Kanpur metropolitan area. The area comprises stretch from the limits of Unnao Municipality to Ganga river near Kanpur on NH 25 and Unnao-Shuklaganj Highway. [1] [2] The Government of Uttar Pradesh has also proposed Skill Development University near the proposed Hi-tech city. [3] The proposed Kanpur Outer Ring Road will pass from Trans Ganga city which will further connect it to the under construction Lucknow–Kanpur Expressway at Azad Marg Chauraha situated at a distance of 10 kilometres from Trans Ganga.The Kanpur Outer Ring Road shall also be connected with the under construction new terminal of Kanpur Airport by a connector road which is at the distance of 20 kilometres from Trans Ganga and shall be just 30 minutes drive from the Hi-tech city.

The city is enlisted as a municipality of Kanpur metropolitan area and is the second largest city within the metropolitan area. nawabganj pakshi vihar located along NH27 is one of best place to see migratory birds which come from various countries during winter season and it has been included in the list of RAMSAR sites. Best time to visit this sanctuary is from November to March.

Jajmau also known as Jajesmow during British Era, is a suburb of Kanpur, India. It is situated on the banks of the Ganges River. Jajmau is an industrial suburb. It has the population of about 652,831 according to census 2011. It is believed to be the oldest inhabited place in the region. The main industry is the leather industry. It is home to some of the biggest leather tanneries in Northern India. The excavations conducted here by the Archaeological Survey of India suggest that it dates back to c. 1300 – 1200 BCE. Earthen pottery, tools and various historical artifacts discovered by the Archaeological Survey of India are presently kept in the Kanpur Sangrahalaya. The area comes under the jurisdiction of Kanpur metropolitan area.

The Agra–Lucknow Expressway is a 302 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway constructed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) to reduce traffic in already congested roads and to reduce pollution and carbon footprint. The expressway reduced the distance between the cities of Agra and Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and is presently one of the India's longest operational expressway.

Unnao Junction Railway Station, also known as Unnao Railway Station, is a major railway station located in Unnao district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It serves Unnao and the surrounding areas. The station falls under the jurisdiction of the Northern Railway zone of the Indian Railways and serves as a crucial transportation hub for the region. Unnao Junction railway station is on the Lucknow–Kanpur Suburban Railway and Varanasi–Kanpur branch line.

On 14 January 2015, more than one hundred unidentified dead bodies were found floating in the River Ganges in Unnao district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The dead bodies are believed to be of mostly unmarried girls and children. They were later buried at the riverbank.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Purvanchal Expressway</span> Indian expressway connecting Lucknow and Ghazipur

Purvanchal Expressway is a 340.8 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The expressway connects Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district. It is developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The Purvanchal Expressway has a 3.2 km long airstrip at Akhalkiri Karwat village near Kurebhar in Sultanpur district for emergency landing of aircraft. The construction work was started by the UPEIDA on 10 October 2018 and was inaugurated and opened to the public on 16 November 2021.

The Mall or Mall Road, also known as Mahatma Gandhi Road is a central business district of Indian city of Kanpur. The area houses many shopping complexes, hotels, MNCs and shopping stores. Mall Road is one of the busiest roads of the city, traffic is daily thrown out of gear here. The road houses the biggest mall of the city, Christ Church College built in 1866, Reserve Bank of India, GPO and many other prominent buildings.

The Outer Ring Road is a under construction 93-kilometre-long (58 mi) 6 lane access-controlled expressway ring road encircling the city of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It will start from Mandhana on Kanpur Aligarh Highway and will pass through Kanpur Jhansi/Agra Highway at Sachendi, Hamirpur Road near Ramaipur, Allahabad Highway at Maharajpur, from there it will cross Ganga river near Chakeri Airport and reach Unnao district where it will connect Raebareli Highway and under construction Kanpur Lucknow Expressway further it will pass through Kanpur Lucknow Highway and Trans Ganga City and will again enter Kanpur district by crossing Ganga river between Ganga Bairaj and Bithoor and end at Mandhana forming a circle.
