Monhegan Island Light is a lighthouse on Monhegan Island, Maine. It was first established in 1824. The present structure was built in 1850. It was Alexander Parris's last significant design. It is the second highest light in Maine — Seguin Light, with a 6-foot taller tower, is 2 feet higher in elevation. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Monhegan Island Lighthouse and Quarters on May 7, 1980, reference number 80000239.
The Lake Linden Historic District is located in the village of Lake Linden in Houghton County, Michigan.
The Centre Harbor Village Historic District encompasses the historic village of Center Harbor, New Hampshire. It consists of a small cluster of properties located north of Plymouth Street and Main Street, as well as the Nichols Memorial Library, and the Kona Fountain, which is located in the center of that intersection. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
Torne Brook Farm is a historic home and farm complex located at Ramapo in Rockland County, New York. The complex consists of the mansion built about 1872 in the High Victorian Gothic style, eight contributing and related outbuildings, and one contributing structure. The main block of the mansion is a 2-story wood-frame dwelling on a cut-stone foundation. It features a mansard roof. Also on the property are a large 1+1⁄2-story frame barn, frame carriage house, caretaker's cottage, chicken coops, and a kennel.
The Wheeler Block, also known as the Old Town Hall and the former Ransom School, is a historic civic and commercial building at 40 Norwich Avenue in Colchester, Connecticut. Built in 1872, it is a good local example of Second Empire architecture, seeing a variety of civic and commercial uses. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 16, 1993.
Van Ornam & Murdock Block, also known as Lee House Block, is a historic commercial block located at Port Henry in Essex County, New York. The block consists of four attached structures in the Italianate style built between 1874 and about 1880. It is the focal point of the Port Henry business district. The Van Ornam Block was built in 1874 and is a 3+1⁄2-story brick building with an ornately bracketed wood cornice. The 4-story Lee House Hotel was also built in 1874 and is a 4-story brick structure. The next building was built about 1880 and is a 2-story wood-frame building with a stamped metal facade. The Harlan building is last on the block and it was also built about 1880. It is a 2-story, flat-roofed brick structure.
Croghan Island Mill is a historic saw mill complex and concrete dam located near Croghan in Lewis County, New York. The mill complex consists of three blocks; the mill building main block, cold storage block, and office block. The main block is a five-by-three-bay, 2+1⁄2-story gable-roofed structure sheathed in clapboard, approximately 30 by 56 feet in size. The cold storage block is a 1-story, gable-roofed addition to the north side of the main block. The office block is a 1+1⁄2-story, shed-roofed addition projecting south of the main block. The complex also includes the wheel house and flume box in a 1+1⁄2-story ell projecting off the main block. The concrete dam was built in 1906 and has an approximately 2-story drop.
The Bridge Avenue Historic District is located in a residential neighborhood on the east side of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983. The historic district stretches from River Drive along the Mississippi River up a bluff to East Ninth Street, which is near the top of the hill.
Byecroft Farm Complex, also known as "Old Congress," is a historic home and farm complex located in Buckingham Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The oldest section of the main house was built in 1702, with three later additions. It consists of a central block with three wings. The central block was built in 1732, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay coursed fieldstone structure. The northeast wing consists of the original one-story structure built in 1702, with a second story added in 1775. A wing to the southwest was added in 1775, and expanded to 2 1/2-stories about 1830. In 1934-1935, a 1+1⁄2-story, two-bay, addition was built onto the southwest wing. The house is reflective of the Georgian style. Also on the property are the contributing Old Bye Barn, carriage house / studio, two-story frame barn, small carriage house / cottage, and pumphouse and well house.
The Alma Downtown Historic District is a commercial historic district in Alma, Michigan, roughly located along Superior Street between the Pine River and Prospect Avenue, and along State Street between Center and Downie Streets. Parts of the district were designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1975, and the entirety was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. It contains 72 structures, primarily brick commercial buildings, ranging from one to three stories in height and dating from 1874 to the 1960s.
Corey Farm, also known as Maplecote and Interbrook, is a historic farmstead and summer house on Parsons Road in Dublin, New Hampshire. Built about 1816 and enlarged later in the 19th century, it is a picturesque example of the adaptation of an older farm property for use as a summer estate. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
The Benjamin Marshall House is a historic house at 1541 Peterborough Road in Dublin, New Hampshire. Built sometime between 1821 and 1833, it is a well-preserved example of a vernacular Greek Revival farmhouse. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
The Rufus Piper Homestead is a historic house on Pierce Road in Dublin, New Hampshire. The house is a well-preserved typical New England multi-section farmhouse, joining a main house block to a barn. The oldest portion of the house is one of the 1+1⁄2-story ells, a Cape style house which was built c. 1817 by Rufus Piper, who was active in town affairs for many years. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The home of Rufus Piper's father, the Solomon Piper Farm, also still stands and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Sawyer Tavern is a historic building at 63 Arch Street in Keene, New Hampshire. Probably built c. 1803–06, it was long a neighborhood landmark, serving as a tavern and then inn and restaurant for parts of the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is now in residential use. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places in 2007.
The Todd Block is a historic commercial and civic building at 27-31 Main Street in Hinsdale, New Hampshire. It consists of two separate buildings that were conjoined in 1895, creating an architecturally diverse structure. The front portion of the building is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure with Second Empire styling; it is only one of two commercial buildings built in that style in the town, and the only one still standing. It was built in 1862, and originally housed shops on the ground floor and residential apartments above. The front of the block has a full two-story porch, with turned posts, decorative brackets and frieze moulding. The corners of the building are pilastered, and the mansard roof is pierced by numerous pedimented dormers. The rear section of the building was built in 1895 as a hall for the local chapter of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF). The principal feature of this three-story structure is its east facade, which has a richly decorated two-story Queen Anne porch.
The William Strongman House is a historic house at 85 Old County Road in Dublin, New Hampshire. The oldest portion of this house is its northern ell, a 1+1⁄2-story structure built in the late 18th century by William Strongman, son of Henry Strongman, who was Dublin's first settler. The main block of the house, a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame Colonial Revival structure, was built by William Wyman in 1899 to resemble typical late 17th-century houses. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
The Thomas Russell Hubbard House is a historic house at 220 Myrtle Street in Manchester, New Hampshire. The 2½-story wood-frame house was built in 1867, by a farmer turned businessman and a prosperous owner of a factory and lumberyard, and is an exceptionally elaborate Italianate villa. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
The Deacon Samuel and Jabez Lane Homestead is a historic farmstead at 132 Portsmouth Avenue in Stratham, New Hampshire. Built in 1807, the main house is a fine local example of Federal period architecture, with carvings executed by a regional master craftsman. The property is further significant because the owners at the time of its construction kept detailed journals documenting the construction of it and other buildings on the property. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
The Martin L. Kelsey House is a historic house at 43 Elmwood Avenue in Burlington, Vermont. Built in 1879 for a local merchant, it is a distinctive and architecturally varied house, with elements of the Second Empire, Queen Anne, and Stick styles on display. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and now forms part of a senior housing complex.
The Ledyard Block Historic District is a group of seven adjacent, coherently designed, nineteenth century commercial structures located within a square block at 123-145 Ottawa Avenue and 104-124 Monroe Center, NW, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The group of buildings was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
