The 2025 Kansas City, Kansas mayoral election will take place on November 4, 2025, following a primary election that took place on August 5, 2025. Incumbent Mayor Tyrone Garner did not seek re-election to a second term.[1] Six candidates are running to succeed him.[2] Rose Mulvany Henry and Christal Watson advanced to the general election after receiving the most votes in the primary election.[3] Watson would defeat Henry in the general election, becoming the first woman, as well as first black woman, to be elected mayor of Kansas City, Kansas.[4][5]
