The County of Robinson is one of the 49 counties of South Australia. It was proclaimed in 1883 by Governor William Robinson who named it after himself. [1] It lies on the north west coast of Eyre Peninsula stretching from Streaky Bay inland to include the Gawler Ranges Conservation Park at the southern cusp of the Gawler Ranges. [1]
Local government spanning the county includes the District Council of Streaky Bay and District Council of Elliston, both established in 1888, and the District Council of Wudinna, established in 1925.
The County of Robinson is divided into the following 24 hundreds which cross over the Streaky Bay district and Wudinna district council areas:
A twenty fifth county subdivision, the Hundred of McBeath, was planned or possibly proclaimed between the hundreds of Wright, Addison, Travers, Wallis and Downer, but the name was never gazetted. [3]
Gawler Ranges National Park is a 1,633 km2 (631 sq mi) protected area lying 350 km (217 mi) north-west of Adelaide in the northern Eyre Peninsula of South Australia. It is known for its spectacular rock formations.
The District Council of Streaky Bay is a local government area in South Australia located on the Eyre Peninsula. Streaky Bay is the main population centre of about 1,200 people serving an agricultural district based on farming wheat and other cereal crops, sheep, supplemented by fishing and tourism industries. The District Council of Elliston is a local government area covering around 6500 km2 on the Western Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. Established in 1888, the district has a diverse economy, with agriculture, commercial fishing and tourism making up the majority of the local economy.
Cungena is a settlement in South Australia. It is in the District Council of Streaky Bay, on the Eyre Highway between Kyancutta and Ceduna. The town was surveyed and proclaimed in 1917, named after the Hundred of Cungena proclaimed in 1913. Cungena also includes the former town of Capietha.
The Hundred of Port Gawler is a cadastral unit of hundred located on the central Adelaide Plains in South Australia and bounded on the south by the Gawler River. It is centred on the town of Two Wells with the locality of Port Gawler at the south western corner of its boundary. It is one of the eight hundreds of the County of Gawler. It was named in 1851 by Governor Henry Young either directly or indirectly after the former Governor George Gawler.

The Hundred of Condada is a cadastral unit of hundred located on the northern Eyre Peninsula of South Australia spanning the township of Minnipa and surrounds. One of the 24 hundreds of the County of Robinson, it was proclaimed in 1913 by Governor Day Bosanquet and named for Condada Hill, in the southwest of the hundred.

The Hundred of Wallis is a cadastral hundred of County of Robinson in South Australia.
