Haryana is a state in India located in the northern part of the country. It was carved out of the former state of East Punjab on 1 November 1966 on a linguistic basis. It is ranked 22nd in terms of area, with less than 1.4% of India's land area. Chandigarh is the state capital, Faridabad in National Capital Region (NCR) is the most populous city of the state, and Gurugram is a leading financial hub of the NCR, with major Fortune 500 companies located in it. Hisar Urban Agglomeration is an extended area of the city of Hisar which includes the area under the Municipal Corporation of Hisar and the campus of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University along with the Mini Secretariat. It is the second biggest urban agglomeration in Haryana after Faridabad.
Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, also known as DHBVN is an Indian state-owned power distribution utility company. It is owned by Government of Haryana and its headquarter is located in Hisar city of Haryana, India.It has two Operation Zones namely Hisar and Delhi. Each zone is headed by Chief Engineer. Hisar Airport is a public airport serving Hisar in Haryana state of India. It is located 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) north-east of the city center on National Highway 10. Hisar is a Counter Magnet City near the National Capital Region of India, inside the influence zone of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project (DMIC). The airport site lies 165 kilometres (103 mi) from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi and 280 kilometres (170 mi) from the capital's Chandigarh International Airport. Hence the Haryana State Government chose to develop an aviation hub at Hisar, encompassing an international airport, a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) zone, and aero manufacturing industrial zone spread across 4,194 acres (1,697 ha) To this end, the State Government of Haryana has made provisions of INR 50 crore in 2016–17, INR 50 crore in 2017–18 and INR 120 crore in 2018–19.
The Central Soil Salinity Research Institute is an autonomous institute of higher learning, established under the umbrella of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) by the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India for advanced research in the field of soil sciences. The Institute is located on Kachawa Road in Karnal, in the state of Haryana, 125 km from the Indian capital of New Delhi.
Saharwa is a village in Hisar tahsil and district in Haryana located on the Hisar-Isarwal road about 28 km from Hisar. It is situated at the boundary of the Hisar and Bhiwani districts. It also marks the onset of Thar desert. Saharwa village was established about 350 years ago in what was then Punjab province. The village has over last decade became known for strawberry cultivation, and it is now the second largest producer of strawberries after Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra. There is a small but locally revered temple of Khattu Shyamji. In 2013 the village was identified by the Geological Survey of India as having large reserves of gypsum.
Regional Fodder Station, Hisar is a public funded agricultural research and training institute located at Sirsa road, Hisar in the Indian state of Haryana for fodder research and training.
Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), formerly Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC), headquartered at Panchkula, is a 100% state-owned agency of the government of Haryana in the Indian state of Haryana. For ease of doing business, Haryana is the first state in India to introduce a labour policy in 2005 and Land Pooling Policy in 2017, for which HSIIDC acts as the nodal agency. Haryana Financial Corporation provides financial assistance for setting up new industrial units and for the expansion and diversification of the existing industries. Various universities, educational and training institutes, including the nation's first skills university Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University, provide the human resources to capitalise on the infrastructure created by the HSIIDC.
Raja Nahar Singh Faridabad Air Force Logistics Station (RAFLS), the 54 ASP logistics base of the Indian Air Force's Western Air Command (WAC), is located at sector-50 of Dabua colony of Faridabad city in Haryana state of India. Headed by a Logistics Group Captain, it is home of the Guard Dog Training Unit and the 56th Air Storage Park.
