The Hollywood Melrose Hotel, also known previously as the Melrose Arms and later as the Monte Cristo Island Apartments, is a historic building on Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, California. Designed by S. Charles Lee, the structure was built in 1927. It has been used both as a hotel and apartments over the years of its existence, with commercial establishments on the first floor. In 1992, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places based on its architecture. In April 2010, the hotel was reopened as the newly restored Hollywood Historic Hotel. Edmon Simonian and his family own the property, and operate a furniture gallery located on the hotel's street level. All of the hotel's facades, common spaces, staircases and 62 rooms were restored to their former 1920s glory following an 18-month interior and exterior renovation.
It is Norman Revival in style, in interesting counterpoint to prevailing Spanish Colonial Revival styling in the area at the time. [2]
The address given in its NRHP registration document is "Melrose Boulevard", [2] but the street is Melrose Avenue.
The Bryn Mawr Historic District is on the lakefront of the Edgewater neighborhood of far-north Chicago, Illinois. It extends along Bryn Mawr Avenue between Broadway Avenue and Sheridan Road. Its most prominent features are the Belle Shore Apartment Hotel, Bryn Mawr Apartment Hotel, Edgewater Beach Apartments, Edgewater Presbyterian Church, Manor House, and the northernmost area of Lincoln Park.
The Bigelow Hotel was a historic hotel located at 2510 Washington Blvd. in Ogden, Utah, United States. Opened in 1927, it was known from 1933-2017 as the Ben Lomond Hotel. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It is notable for its Italian Renaissance Revival architectural significance and as the setting of historical events. The hotel was a member of Choice Hotels' Ascend Collection. In 2019 it was converted to The Bigelow Apartments.
The 310 West Church Street Apartments, also known as the Ambassador Hotel, is a historic building located at 420 North Julia Street in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. On April 7, 1983, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
The Drake Court Apartments and the Dartmore Apartments Historic District, built between 1916 and 1921, is located at Jones Street from 20th to 23rd Streets in Midtown Omaha, in the U.S. state of Nebraska. Built in combined Georgian Revival, Colonial Revival and Prairie School styles, the complex was designated a City of Omaha Landmark in 1978; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district in 1980. The historic district originally included 6.5 acres (2.6 ha) with 19 buildings. In 2014, boundary of the historic district was expanded by 0.74 acres (0.30 ha) include three additional buildings, and decreased by 3 acres (1.2 ha) to remove open space and parking that had been re-purposed, for a new total of 4.24 acres (1.72 ha). The district was also renamed to Drake Court Historic District.
Washington Boulevard Historic District is a multi-block area of downtown Detroit, Michigan. It consists of structures facing Washington Boulevard between State and Clifford Streets. In 1982, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It includes the Book-Cadillac Hotel, the Book Tower, the Industrial Building, and Detroit City Apartments among other architecturally significant buildings. Washington Boulevard is one of the city's main boulevards and part of Augustus Woodward's 1807-design for the city. Because Woodward's plan was never completed, the boulevard contains a sharp curve south of Michigan Avenue where it was connected to an existing street.
The Greensburg Downtown Historic District of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, is bounded approximately by Tunnel Street, Main Street, Third Street, and Harrison Avenue. It consists of 62 buildings on 21.8 acres (8.8 ha), with the most notable buildings from the years 1872-1930. The district's oldest structure (1872) is the former Masonic Temple at 132 South Main Street. The Academy Hill Historic District is directly to the north of downtown Greensburg.
Jardinette Apartments, now known as Marathon Apartments, is a four-story apartment building in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, designed by modernist Richard Neutra. It was Neutra's first commission in the United States. In his book Key Buildings of the Twentieth Century, Richard Weston called the Jardinette Apartments "one of the first Modernist buildings in America." It has also been called "America's first multi-family, International-style building."

It contains 14 structures located along three streets: East Forest, Garfield, and East Canfield, between Woodward Avenue on the west and John R. on the east. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
The Milner Arms Apartments, originally known as the Hotel Stevenson, is a high rise building located at 40 Davenport Street in Midtown Detroit, Michigan; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. It is adjacent to, but not part of, the Cass-Davenport Historic District.
William Lee Stoddart (1868–1940) was an architect best known for designing urban hotels in the eastern United States. Although he was born in Tenafly, New Jersey, most of his commissions were in the South. He maintained offices in Atlanta and New York City.
The Chateau Frontenac Apartments was an apartment building located in Detroit, Michigan. It bore the name of the famous Chateau Frontenac hotel. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, but was subsequently demolished. It was removed from the National Register in 2020.

The Ayrshire Apartments is a historic building located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. It was built in 1920 as a fireproof apartment hotel. The three-story building was designed in the Tudor Revival style, represented by the half-timbering on the third floor. All 36 units include a kitchenette, a Murphy bed in the living room, and a built-in clothes closet. The end units on each floor are larger than the interior units and they include a solarium. The building is located on Sixth Avenue, which by the turn of the 20th century had become a major route utilized by vehicular traffic and streetcar lines. Its proximity to this transportation corridor illustrates the emergence of higher and denser residential use in these areas of Des Moines. The apartment building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 as a part of the Towards a Greater Des Moines MPS.
The Northwest Marietta Historic District is a 230-acre (93 ha) historic district in Marietta, Georgia that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It includes Late Victorian, Greek Revival, Plantation Plain, and other architecture.
The Jefferson Arms Building is a historic hotel in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. It opened as the Hotel Jefferson in 1904 to serve visitors to the Louisiana Purchase Exposition and was named in honor of Thomas Jefferson.
Frederick Apartments is a well preserved Classical Revival-style apartment building in downtown Columbia, Missouri, across the street from the University of Missouri. Constructed in 1928 with 39 apartments the building has functioned as originally intended since that time. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013 under architectural criteria. It remains one of the largest early twentieth century apartment buildings in Columbia and one of only four remaining in the vicinity. The building is a memorial to Frederick Niedermeyer, Jr., a World War I pilot who perished in a plane crash. As of 2013, the owners are in the process of restoring the building.
Appleton Prentiss Clark Jr. was an American architect from Washington, D.C. During his 60-year career, Clark was responsible for designing hundreds of buildings in the Washington area, including homes, hotels, churches, apartments and commercial properties. He is considered one of the city's most prominent and influential architects from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of his designs are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
The Rae Flats and The Raleigh, also known as The Phoenix; The Hotel Raleigh; The Tudor Arms; The Phoenix Apartments, are two historic apartment buildings located in the Allentown neighborhood of Buffalo, Erie County, New York. The Rae was built about 1892, and is a three-story, polychromatic brick building over a raised basement with Norman inspired detailing. The Rae houses a total of seven apartments. The Raleigh was built about 1896 as a Jewish clubhouse and converted to apartments in 1901. It is a four-story, Romanesque Revival style brick building that houses 28 apartments.
Casa Faena, on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, Florida, is a hotel built in 1928. It was designed by prolific local architect Martin L. Hampton, who also designed Miami Beach City Hall and who "was a master of the Mediterranean Revival style". It was opened as an apartment building named El Paraiso Apartments, originally with two hotel rooms and 18 apartment units.
