This is a list of assassinations in Albania from the year 1913 to present day. Included in the list are public figures and other prominent individuals who were active in Albanian politics and daily life. Also included are assassinations that took place outside the present day borders of Albania. Not included are those who died as casualties of war or were killed by the State. [1] [2]

The Order of Skanderbeg was originally instituted in 1925 as an order of merit of the Albanian Republic. It was replaced by the Communist government in 1945 with a new award of the same name. Skanderbeg is the national hero of the Albanian people.

The Battle of Otonetë occurred on September 27, 1446, in upper Dibra in Albania. The Ottoman commander, Mustafa Pasha, was sent into Albania, but was soon intercepted and defeated by Skanderbeg. It was one of the many victories won by Skanderbeg.

The Democratic Government of Albania also known as the Hoxha I Government was established on 20 October 1944 by the National Liberation Movement, as the Albanian partisan resistance of 1940–1944 came to a close. A provisional government took power after the liberation of the country from German forces on 28 November. Its interim Prime Minister was Secretary-General Enver Hoxha of the Communist Party of Albania. The interim government was to be in existence until the holding of elections and the convening of a Constituent Assembly.

Muhamet Ismail Kapllani is a former Albanian diplomat who served as Foreign Minister of Albania in 1991.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Order of Besa</span> Albanian Order of Knighthood

The Order of Besa, also known as the Order of Fidelity, was established by Ahmet Zogu when he was President of Albania. Founded on 22 December 1926, it was initially awarded in four classes and a medal. It was limited to six ordinary recipients of Albanian nationality, and was not awardable to foreigners.

The Përmeti I Government was the 2nd ruling government of Albania, formed on 14 March 1914, following the arrival of Prince Wied in the country.

The Government of Durrës was the 4th ruling government of Albania formed after the events at the Congress of Durrës from which it takes its name. The government was headed by Turhan Pashë Përmeti, for whom it was the second time in the position of prime minister.

The Toptani Government was the 3rd ruling government of Albania, formed on 5 October 1914.

The Delvina Government was the 5th ruling government of Albania, led by Sulejman Delvina. It was formed after the events at the Congress of Lushnjë which laid the foundation for the first democratic legislative elections to be held in the country the following year.

Nexhati Libohova (Ismailati) (Libohovë, 1877 – Shkallnur, May 26, 1915) was an Albanian politician, active in the early independence period. A former cadet in the Ottoman Empire, he later joined the government of Essad Pasha Toptani to serve as Minister of Finances.
