H.O.T. is a South Korean boy band that was created by SM Entertainment in 1996. They are considered to be the first K-pop idol group and their successful formula became the model for many K-pop groups that followed them. The group consisted of five members: Moon Hee-joon, Jang Woo-hyuk, Tony Ahn, Kangta, and Lee Jae-won.

Shin Kyuk-ho, known in Japan as Shigemitsu Takeo, was a Zainichi Korean businessman known for being the founder of the South Korean-Japanese conglomerate Lotte Corporation (Group), now one of the largest chaebols in South Korea.
Air Busan Co., Ltd., operating as Air Busan is a low-cost airline based in Busanjin-gu, Busan, South Korea. It is a subsidiary of Asiana Airlines. The airline began its operation in 2007 as Busan International Airlines Company ; it launched service in October 2008.

Kang Ji-hyun, known professionally as Soyou, is a South Korean singer. She is best known as a former member of the South Korean girl group Sistar.
Park Bo-ram was a South Korean singer. She took part in Mnet's SuperStar K2 and finished in eighth place. Park made her debut with release digital single "Beautiful" featuring Zico on August 7, 2014. That year, she won Artist of the Year for August at the Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards and was nominated for Best New Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, and Melon Music Awards. She died at age 30 from acute alcohol poisoning after collapsing at her friend's home.
Kim Jun-su, known mononymously as Junsu or known under the stage name XIA is a South Korean singer, songwriter, dancer and musical actor. He is former member of JYJ, and was one of the original members of boy band TVXQ, where he was formerly known by the stage name Xiah Junsu. In November 2021, Kim formed his own agency PALMTREE ISLAND with he charges as CEO.
SM Station is a digital music project by South Korean record label SM Entertainment. It undertook to release one digital single every Friday starting from February 3, 2016.
On 26 January 2018, a fire at the Sejong Hospital in the South Korean city of Miryang killed 41 people and injured 153. It was South Korea's deadliest fire in nearly a decade. The fire occurred one month after 29 people died in a gym fire in the city of Jecheon. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The 2018 opinion rigging scandal in South Korea is a political scandal that erupted in April 2018 after a group of ardent supporters of the South Korean President Moon Jae-in had been charged with online opinion rigging. The accused suspects were the members of the ruling Democratic Party (DPK). The main perpetrator, as well as the leader of the pro-Moon group, was a well-known power-blogger called "Druking."
Summer Ade is the fourth extended play by South Korean girl group DIA. It was released digitally on August 9, 2018, by MBK Entertainment under Interpark's music distribution. The EP includes a total of eight tracks including the lead single "WooWoo".
Jang Hye-young is a South Korean politician and human rights activist for the disabled and the LGBTQ+ community. She is an incumbent lawmaker and has proposed anti-discrimination laws. Jang's fight for rights for the disabled means a lot to her on the personal level, as she has an autistic sister. In 2018, she released a documentary about their shared life together. This award-winning documentary gained her recognition as a disability rights activist and filmmaker. Jang is a member of the Progressive Justice Party of Korea.
