This is a list of massacres during or immediately after the Finnish Civil War. The Finnish Civil War was a conflict in 1918, which killed more than 38,000 people (about one percent of the country's population), of whom 1,650 were victims of Red Terror, and over 10,000 of White Terror. [1]

Jussi Niinistö is a Finnish politician and a former Minister of Defence and a former member of Finnish Parliament, representing the Finns Party 2011–2017 and Blue Reform since 2017. By occupation he is a military historian, a docent of Finnish history in the University of Helsinki and a docent of military history in the Finnish National Defence University. In 2013 he was elected as the first vice-chairman of the True Finns, but lost his seat in 2017.

Ismo Mikael Leikola, sometimes known professionally as ISMO, is a Finnish stand-up comedian, musician, author, screenwriter, and YouTuber. Leikola made his United States debut in 2014, when he won "The Funniest Person in the World" competition organized by the comedy club Laugh Factory. In 2015, he made comedy series ISMO for Finnish television and moved to the United States. He gained more recognition after his appearance on the Conan talk show in 2018 and has since toured internationally. He has a YouTube channel with over 300,000 subscribers.

Puntala-rock is a punk rock festival in Lempäälä, Finland. It is one of the oldest and largest punk rock festivals in Finland. It is an important punk-cultural happening from a Finnish point of view, because similar punk-rock festivals are not held in Finland. The main organizer is the Lempäälän Karuselli ry (LeKa).

The 2019–20 SM-liiga season was the 45th season of the SM-liiga, the top level of ice hockey in Finland, since the league's formation in 1975. The last two game days of the regular season were scheduled to be played in front of an empty arena due to the Finnish government advising that all public events with more than 500 attendees would be cancelled or postponed. On 13 March, the rest of the season, which included the final round of the regular season and all of playoffs, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Puustellinmetsä mass grave was a mass grave that was located in Puustellinmetsä, Suutarila, Helsinki, Finland. It was created during the Finnish civil war in 1918. The remains of the bodies in the grave were transferred to the Malmi Cemetery in 1971.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Perttula executions</span> Execution during the Finnish Civil War

The Perttula executions, also known as the "Perttula Blood Weddings", took place during the Pentecost between May 18 and May 20, 1918, during the Finnish Civil War, when Finnish Whites shot about 30-40 Finnish Reds or suspected communists. The executions took place in the village of Perttula, Nurmijärvi and were carried out by a battalion of Swedish-speaking Western-Uusimaa partisans of the White Guard. It was led by Swedish Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Ward, with former Russian Army officer Ivar Hast and Chief of Defense Ivar Ståhle as the company commanders.

Power Belongs to the People formerly known as Parliamentary Group Ano Turtiainen (AT), is a political party in Finland. Ano Turtiainen is its group leader and only member of parliament. The group's rules state that the purpose of the group's activities is "to act in parliament in the interests of Finland and Finns and to have freedom of speech in elections".

Porin Ässät ry is a sports club based in Pori, Finland. The club's only programs are ice hockey and esports, but it used to have an association football program. Porin Ässät ry operates an ice hockey team in the Finnish Elite League. Porin Ässät ry also has junior teams for all age groups from U7 to U20. Porin Ässät ry also operate a women's ice hockey school and the girl's junior ice hockey department while also operating a skating school.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pesäkarhut</span>

Porin Pesäkarhut are a pesäpallo club based in Pori, Finland. They currently only have a women's team which competes in the Superpesis. The club was established in 1985. They play in the Porin pesäpallostadion. They have won the Finnish Championship three times, in 2002, in 2021 and in 2023.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mika Aaltola</span> Finnish political scientist

Mika Petteri Aaltola is a Finnish political scientist and director of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs. He has gained media attention during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, which he follows and regularly comments on. Aaltola holds a doctorate in social sciences. He works as docent at Tampere University, and is a part-time professor at Tallinn University. He is running for President of Finland in 2024.
