The Federal Route 1 is the first federal road in Malaysia, and also the oldest federal road in Malaysia, as well as among the nation's earliest public roadways ever constructed. The Federal Route 1 was the backbone of the road system in the western states of Peninsular Malaysia before being supplanted by the North–South Expressway.

Federal Route 54, or Jalan Kuala Selangor–Kepong or Jalan Kepong in Kuala Lumpur side, is a main federal road in Selangor, Malaysia. The road connects Asam Jawa near Kuala Selangor to Kepong near Kuala Lumpur. It is a main route to Kuala Lumpur from Federal Route 5. Federal Route 54 became the backbone of the road system linking Kuala Selangor to Kuala Lumpur before being surpassed by the Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor Expressway E25 in 2011.

Federal Route 53, or Jalan Seremban–Port Dickson, is the federal road in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. It connects Seremban to Port Dickson. The 33.2 km (20.6 mi) Federal Route 53 became the backbone of the road system linking Seremban to Port Dickson before being surpassed by the Seremban–Port Dickson Highway E29 in 1998.

Federal Route 55 or Jalan Kuala Kubu Bharu–Teranum–Raub is a 62-km federal road connecting the states of Selangor and Pahang in Malaysia. It is the first federal road ever being constructed in Pahang. The road connects Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor to Teranum near Raub in Pahang. It is the main access route to Fraser's Hill.

Malaysia Federal Route 56

Jalan Bukit Fraser 1 or Jalan Gap-Bukit Fraser, Federal Route 56, is a federal road in Fraser's Hill, both in Selangor and Pahang state, Malaysia. Unlike most federal roads in Malaysia, Jalan Bukit Fraser is a single-lane federal road, which direction was used to be reversed hourly before the newer Jalan Bukit Fraser 2 route 148 was completed in 2001 for downhill traffic. Now the road is used for uphill traffic at all times. The road is only open during daytime for safety reasons. It is maintained by the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR) and the Fraser's Hill Development Corporation (FHDC).

Changlun–Kuala Perlis Highway, Federal Route 194, is a highway in Malaysia which links the state of Perlis with the main expressway of Peninsular Malaysia, the North–South Expressway. Most of the route of this highway used to be Kedah State Route K6 and Perlis State Route R6, while the Federal Route 81 is a short road from Route 7 to Kuala Perlis. Those roads were upgraded to a four-lane highway to provide better accessibility from the North–South Expressway.

Federal Route 87, or Jalan Mentakab-Temerloh, is a main federal road in Pahang, Malaysia. The 15.6 km (9.1 mi) roads connects Mentakab until Temerloh. The roads was called Federal Route 2 before Mentakab-Temerloh Bypass was built in 1978.

The Federal Route 8, also known as the Kuala Lumpur–Kota Bharu Highway, is a 402.7-km federal highway in Malaysia. It connects Bentong in the south to Kota Bharu in the north. Jalan Wang Kelian

Jalan Wang Kelian, Federal Route 226, is a federal road in Perlis, Malaysia. It is also a main route to Wang Prachan and Satun, Thailand via Wang Prachan Road. Jalan Wang Kelian is notorious for its narrow and dangerous sharp corners. The Kilometre Zero of the Federal Route 226 starts at the Malaysia-Thailand border near Wang Kelian Checkpoint, Perlis.

Federal Route 83, or Jalan Bandar Pusat Jengka, is the main federal roads in Bandar Pusat Jengka, Pahang, Malaysia. There are many FELDA settlements along this road.

Federal Route 81, or Jalan Behor Lateh, is a federal road in Perlis, Malaysia, that links Route 7 to Kuala Perlis.
