The Sultanah Bahiyah Highway [1] (Malay: Lebuhraya Sultanah Bahiyah), Federal Route 255 (formerly Alor Setar Bypass and Jalan Sultanah, both Kedah State Route K139) is a major highway bypass in Alor Star, Kedah, Malaysia. [2] It was named after the late Sultanah Bahiyah, a first consort of Sultan Abdul Halim of Kedah. The Kilometre Zero is located at Alor Setar North.
In November 2003, after a first consort of Sultan Abdul Halim of Kedah, Sultanah Bahiyah, died on 26 August 2003, the Kedah state government renamed the highway Sultanah Bahiyah Highway in her honour.
In 2013, the highway was gazetted as Federal Route 255.
At most sections, the Federal Route 255 was built under the JKR R5 road standard, with a speed limit of 90 km/h.

Kedah, also known by its honorific Darul Aman and historically as Queda, is a state of Malaysia, located in the northwestern part of Peninsular Malaysia. The state covers a total area of over 9,000 km2, and consists of a mainland portion and the Langkawi islands. TunkuAbdul Malik ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah was the heir presumptive to the throne of Kedah. He was the son of Sultan Badlishah and the brother of the late ruler, Sultan Abdul Halim. He served as Regent of Kedah from 1970 to 1975.
Che Puan Besar Hajah Haminah binti Haji Hamidun, formerly known as Sultanah Haminah is the former Sultanah of Kedah and the widow of Sultan Abdul Halim Mua'dzam Shah. Born as a commoner, she married Sultan Abdul Halim on 21 November 2003 after death of his first wife. She served as the 14th Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia from 2011 to 2016, during her husband's second term as Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Malaysian federal head of state. After her husband's death in September 2017, his successor and her brother-in-law Sultan Sallehuddin, bestowed upon her the title Che Puan Besar of Kedah, roughly equivalent to the queen dowager.

Tunku Soraya binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah is the Raja Puan Muda of Perak who is the wife of Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain, the Raja Di-Hilir of Perak. She was adopted by her maternal uncle Sultan Abdul Halim and his consort Sultanah Bahiyah of Kedah as their daughter on 3 May 1960.
