KLIA Expressway, E6 and Federal Route 26, is an expressway in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia. It serves as the main access road to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), as well as the nearby Sepang International Circuit and Bandar Enstek.

Contents

The total length of the expressway is 11.4 km (7.1 mi). Starting from the Kilometre Zero or A Zero (A0) at KLIA Interchange of the North–South Expressway Central Link E6, the first 5.9 km (3.7 mi) of the expressway is maintained as part of the North–South Expressway Central Link E6 by PLUS Expressway Berhad. The remaining sections of expressway connecting to KLIA is numbered as Federal Route 26 and maintained by the Malaysian Public Works Department. [1]

Features

At most sections, the Federal Route 26 was built under the JKR R5 road standard, with a speed limit to 90 km/h.

There is one overlap: KLIA Interchange–KLIA airport boundary : E6 North–South Expressway Central Link.

There are no alternate routes or sections with motorcycle lanes.

Federal Highway is a Malaysian controlled-access highway connecting the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, and Klang, Selangor. The highway starts from Seputeh in Kuala Lumpur to Klang, Selangor. It is the busiest highway in Klang Valley during rush hour from/to Kuala Lumpur. The Federal Highway is coded as Federal Route 2.

The North–South Expressway Southern Route North–South Expressway Southern Route is an interstate controlled-access highway running parallel to the southwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The expressway forms the south section of the North–South Expressway, connecting the states of Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca and Johor. KLIA Outer Ring Road(KLIAORR), or Jalan Pekeliling, Federal Route 27, is the second highway and ring road along Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) after KLIA Expressway (Federal Route 26) in Malaysia. During Formula One Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix championship every year it becomes the main route to Sepang F1 Circuit. From 1 March 2006 until 9 May 2014 it became a main road to Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT).

Lebuh Ayer Keroh, Federal Route 143, also known as Lebuhraya Ayer Keroh or Ayer Keroh Highway, is the main dual-carriageway highway that connects Malacca City of Malacca, Malaysia to the North–South Expressway via Ayer Keroh Interchange. Ayer Keroh, the main satellite town of Malacca City is located along the road. Lebuh Ayer Keroh used to be Melaka State Route M31 before being recommissioned by Malaysian Public Works Department (Jabatan Kerja Raya ). Before 1993, most of the road was a two-lane road before it was upgraded to a dual-carriageway in 1993 and in 1997.

Federal Route 54, or Jalan Kuala Selangor–Kepong or Jalan Kepong in Kuala Lumpur side, is a main federal road in Selangor, Malaysia. The road connects Asam Jawa near Kuala Selangor to Kepong near Kuala Lumpur. It is a main route to Kuala Lumpur from Federal Route 5. The Malaysian Expressway System is a network of national controlled-access expressways in Malaysia that forms the primary backbone network of Malaysian national highways. The network begins with the Tanjung Malim–Slim River tolled road which was opened to traffic on 16 March 1966, later North–South Expressway (NSE), and is being substantially developed.
