Semeling Bypass, Federal Route 253, is a major highway bypass in Semeling, Kuala Muda District, Kedah, Malaysia. [1] The Kilometre Zero is located at Taman Tasek Indah junctions near Semeling.
In 2012, the highway was gazetted as Federal Route 253.
At most sections, the Federal Route 253 was built under the JKR R5 road standard, allowing maximum speed limit of up to 90 km/h.

Malaysian Federal Roads System, is the main national road network in Malaysia. All Federal Roads in Malaysia are under the purview of the Ministry of Works (MOW). According to the Ministerial Functions Act 1969, the MOW is responsible to plan, build and maintain all Federal Roads gazetted under the Federal Roads Act 1959. However, most of the Federal roads' projects were built and maintained by the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR), which is also one of the implementing agencies under the MOW.

The 10-km highway was opened to traffic on 28 November 2017 at 9.00 pm. Construction of the RM628mil Rawang Bypass began on 16 July 2005 and was completed on 21 November 2017. It features a 2.7-km elevated viaduct with its highest pillar of 58.2 meters.
