Secondary Highway 504, commonly referred to as Highway 504, was a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The highway was 26.1 kilometres (16.2 mi) long, connecting Highway 28 south of Apsley with Highway 620 in Glen Alda. [5] The only other community served by Highway 504 was Lasswade.
Highway 504 was established, along with many other secondary highways, in 1956. Originally, the route looped around Chandos Lake back to Apsley. However, the northern portion of this loop would later become Highway 620. During the 1997-1998 mass downloading of Ontario provincial highways to local authorities, Highway 504 was downloaded to Peterborough County and has since been known as County Road 504.
Although Highway 504 no longer exists today, the route it follows is currently designated as Peterborough County Road 504. Despite this designation, a short 200 metres (660 ft) section near Glen Alda lies within Hastings County. The route began at Highway 28 just south of Apsley, and entered the village along Burleigh Street before turning onto Wellington Street. From there, Highway 504 travelled east into the southern fringes of the Canadian Shield, with thick forests surrounding the majority of the route. However, in addition to the hamlet of Lasswade, located around the midpoint of the highway, the route also served cottagers along the southern and eastern shores of Chandos Lake and numerous residences line the length of road. At Lasswade, located at a junction with Peterborough County Road 46, Highway 504 turned north, and meandered towards Glen Alda. There it encountered Highway 620 and ended. [6] [7]
The route of Highway 504 was first assumed by the Department of Highways in early 1956, along with several dozen other secondary highways. It was likely maintained as a development road prior to that. The route travelled in a loop around Chandos Lake, beginning and ending in Apsley. [2] [3] The following year, Highway 620 was designated east from Glen Alda to connect to Highway 62. [8] Highway 620 assumed the northern route of Highway 504, west of Glen Alda, circa 1963. [9] [10] Between then and the 1990s, the route remained unchanged. [6] On January 1, 1998, the entirety of Highway 504, including the section that had become Highway 620, was transferred to the responsibility of Peterborough County. [4]

Secondary Highway 522, commonly referred to as Highway 522, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The highway is 109.6 kilometres (68.1 mi) in length, connecting Highway 69 near Cranberry with Highway 11 at the community of Trout Creek. Highway 522 serves as the only link between these two routes south of Highway 17 and north of Highway 124. It is often used to access Grundy Lake Provincial Park, a popular camping area for northbound travellers.
Secondary Highway 524, commonly referred to as Highway 524, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The highway is 4.6 kilometres (2.9 mi) in length, connecting Highway 522 at Farley's Corners with Highway 534, which leads to Restoule. It was established in 1956, along with most of the secondary highway system in the province, and has remained unchanged since then.

The highway was assumed in 1956, and has remained generally unchanged since, aside from being truncated slightly at both ends.
Secondary Highway 532, commonly referred to as Highway 532, is a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The route connects several mining and milling towns in Unorganized Algoma District, notably Searchmont. The route is remote, ending at a mine access road 14.2 kilometres (8.8 mi) north of Highway 556, its southern terminus.
King's Highway 28, commonly referred to as Highway 28, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The southwest–northeast route extends from Highway 7 east of Peterborough, to Highway 41 in Denbigh. The route passes over undulating hills before entering the Canadian Shield near Burleigh Falls, and gradually turns eastward.
King's Highway 62, commonly referred to as Highway 62, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The highway travels south–north from Highway 33 at Bloomfield in Prince Edward County, through Belleville, Madoc and Bancroft, to Maynooth, where it ends at a junction with Highway 127. Prior to 1997, the route continued north and east of Maynooth through Combermere, Barry's Bay, Killaloe, Round Lake and Bonnechere to Highway 17 in Pembroke. This section of highway was redesignated Hastings Highlands Municipal Road 62, Renfrew County Road 62, and Renfrew County Road 58.
King's Highway 127, commonly referred to as Highway 127, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The route begins in Maynooth, connecting Highway 62 north of Bancroft with Highway 60 in the township of South Algonquin, east of Whitney and Algonquin Provincial Park. The entire route is patrolled by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Secondary Highway 533, commonly referred to as Highway 533, is a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The route begins in the town of Mattawa, at Highway 17, and travels north to Highway 63. Between these two junctions is a large barren expanse of wilderness with almost no habitation. Mattawa is the only community along the route. Highway 533 was assumed in 1956, along with many of the secondary highways in the province. It was later extended to Highway 63 in 1958, establishing the route as it remains today. A roundabout with Highway 17 was opened in late 2011, the first on a provincial highway in Ontario.
Secondary Highway 503, commonly referred to as Highway 503, was a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The 116.8 km (72.6 mi) route existed between 1956 and 1998. Between 1956 and 1963, the highway stretched from Kirkfield to Sebright, and then along the Monck Road from Sebright to Kinmount, entirely within Victoria County. In 1964, the route was extended to Highway 121 in Tory Hill along the route of Highway 500 through the counties of Peterborough and Haliburton. In 1998, the route was transferred to the various counties in which it resided. Today it is known as Kawartha Lakes City Road 6 and 45, Peterborough County Road 503 and Haliburton County Road 503.
Secondary Highway 649, commonly referred to as Highway 649, was a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. Now known as Kawartha Lakes Road 49, and locally as East Street North in Bobcaygeon, it is a municipally-maintained class-3 roadway located mostly along the boundary between the city of Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough County. The 18-kilometre-long (11 mi) route begins in Bobcaygeon at a junction with former Highway 36, and proceeds north along the boundary between Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough County to a junction with former Highway 121 just south of Kinmount.
Secondary Highway 529, commonly referred to as Highway 529, is a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. Located within Parry Sound District, the highway follows a 25.7-kilometre (16.0 mi) route, from its southern terminus at Highway 69 near Pointe au Baril to its northern terminus at the Highway 69 crossing of the Magnetawan River near Byng Inlet. Two spur routes, Highway 529A and Highway 645, branch off the highway to serve the communities of Bayfield Inlet and Byng Inlet, respectively. The route was established along the present alignment of Highway 529A in 1956. It was relocated in 1961 along the former routing of Highway 69 when a bypass opened through the area, with the former alignment being renumbered as Highway 529A.
Secondary Highway 529A, commonly referred to as Highway 529A, is a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. Located within Parry Sound District, the highway is a short spur of Highway 529, extending from Manbert to Bayfield Inlet.
Secondary Highway 539A, commonly referred to as Highway 539A, is a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario, located within Nipissing District. Commencing at a junction with Highway 539 in the community of River Valley, the highway formerly extended northwesterly for 13.1 kilometres (8.1 mi) to a point near where the Sturgeon River crosses the boundary between Nipissing and Sudbury District at Glen Afton; at this point, the roadway turned northward and continues as Highway 805. The route was later truncated, and now extends for only 5.8 kilometres, with the remainder of the former route having been renumbered as an extension of Highway 805.
King's Highway 30, commonly referred to as Highway 30, was a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The 51.1-kilometre (31.8 mi)-long route connected Highway 2 in Brighton with Highway 7 in Havelock via Campbellford. Established in 1930, the highway initially travelled only as far north as Campbellford. Alongside the construction of Highway 7 between Peterborough and Perth, Highway 30 was extended north to Havelock in 1934. The route remained generally consistent until 1998, when it was decommissioned and transferred to Northumberland County and Peterborough County. Both counties redesignated their portion of the former highway as County Road 30.
King's Highway 45, commonly referred to as Highway 45, was a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The 54.1-kilometre-long (33.6 mi) route connected Highway 2 in downtown Cobourg with Highway 7 in Norwood. In addition to the towns at either end, it bisected the communities of Baltimore, Fenella, Alderville, Roseneath and Hastings.
Secondary Highway 541A, commonly referred to as Highway 541A, was a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. This short 3.2-kilometre (2.0 mi) spur connected Highway 541 north of Garson with the community of Falconbridge.
Secondary Highway 545, commonly referred to as Highway 545, was a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. This 33.9-kilometre (21.1 mi) highway connected Highway 541 at Bailey Corners near Garson with the now-abandoned community of Milnet, passing through Hanmer and Capreol. It followed what is now Municipal Road 85, Municipal Road 84, and Milnet Road. The route featured a concurrency with Highway 69 between Hanmer and Capreol.
Secondary Highway 513, commonly referred to as Highway 513, was a provincially maintained secondary highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. Located within Renfrew County, the highway travelled northward from Highway 132 at Dacre along Scotch Bush Road, turning eastward on what is now Renfrew County Road 22, and ending a short distance to the east before reaching Douglas.
Two new Ontario road numbers appear on the province's 1956 official road map which will be ready for distribution next week. The new numbers are the 500 and 600 series and designate hundreds of miles of secondary roads which are wholly maintained by the Highways Department. More than 100 secondary roads will have their own numbers and signs this year. All of these secondary roads were taken into the province's main highways system because they form important connecting links with the King's Highways
