Historic districts in the United States are designated historic districts recognizing a group of buildings, archaeological resources, or other properties as historically or architecturally significant. Buildings, structures, objects, and sites within a historic district are normally divided into two categories, contributing and non-contributing. Districts vary greatly in size and composition: a historic district could comprise an entire neighborhood with hundreds of buildings, or a smaller area with just one or a few resources.
Edgewood Historic District is a historic district located in the west-central portion of New Haven, Connecticut. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. A predominantly residential area roughly bisected by Edgewood Avenue, a broad boulevard which features a large central esplanade and forms the principal east-west artery through the heart of the district. The area includes 232 contributing buildings, 4 other contributing structures, and 1 contributing object. Most of these were built between about 1888 and 1900, and represent the city's first neighborhood planned under the tenets of the City Beautiful movement. They are generally either Queen Anne or Colonial Revival in style, and are set on larger lots.
There are 75 properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Albany, New York, United States. Six are additionally designated as National Historic Landmarks (NHLs), the most of any city in the state after New York City. Another 14 are historic districts, for which 20 of the listings are also contributing properties. The Browncroft Historic District is a national historic district located in the Browncroft neighborhood of Rochester, New York. The district contains 518 contributing buildings, two contributing sites, two contributing objects, and two contributing structures over 116 acres. It includes 417 residential properties constructed between 1914 and World War II.
Brown's Race Historic District is a national historic district located at Rochester in Monroe County, New York. The district contains 15 contributing buildings, 2 contributing structures, and 14 contributing sites. All of the principal buildings are used for commercial purposes and are sited along or near the curving south rim of the Genesee River gorge at the rim of the High Falls. The district comprises a collection of 19th-century industrial buildings built of brick and stone, and ranging in size from one- to six-stories. Also in the district is the mill race and the 19th century iron Pont De Rennes bridge, which is used today as a pedestrian bridge and viewing platform of the High Falls and surrounding gorge.
The Maplewood Historic District is located in Rochester in Monroe County, New York. The district is distinguished as having landscape designs, including Maplewood Park, originally laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted.
St. Peter is a historic Great Lakes schooner that shipwrecked in Lake Ontario near Pultneyville in Wayne County, New York. She was built in 1873 and measured 135.7 ft (41.4 m) in length, 26.0 ft (7.9 m) in beam, and 12.1 ft (3.7 m) depth of hold. At the time of her sinking on October 27, 1898, her hold was filled with 607 short tons of "chestnut coal."
Broadway Historic District is a national historic district located at Cape Vincent in Jefferson County, New York, United States. The district includes six contributing buildings and one contributing structure; three high style residences and four contributing outbuildings. Located within the district is the separately listed Vincent LeRay House.

New York Central Railroad Adirondack Division Historic District is a national historic district located in Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Herkimer, Oneida, and St. Lawrence County, New York. The district includes 23 contributing buildings and 18 contributing structures. It encompasses the former Mohawk and Malone Railway that eventually became the Adirondack Division of the New York Central Railroad in 1913.
Vernon Center Green Historic District is a national historic district located at Vernon in Oneida County, New York. The district is historically significant as a rare surviving example in central New York State of an eighteenth century New England type village green.
Middlefield Hamlet Historic District is a national historic district located at Middlefield in Otsego County, New York. It encompasses 24 contributing principal buildings and eight contributing dependencies. All but one of the buildings are residences. It also includes a Greek Revival style frame store building.
Oxford Village Historic District is a national historic district located at Oxford in Chenango County, New York. The district includes 201 contributing buildings and seven contributing structures. It encompasses the village's historic core and includes commercial, residential, civic, and ecclesiastical buildings. Among the notable buildings are the First National Bank of Oxford building (1894), James Clarke House building, Baptist Church, and Gerritt Van Wagenen house (1824). Located within the district are the separately listed Theodore Burr House and US Post Office-Oxford.
Goose Hill Road Historic District is a national historic district located at Cold Spring Harbor in Suffolk County, New York. The district has 11 contributing buildings. It is a small agrarian enclave situated along both sides of a narrow, winding road. The dwellings date from the late 18th to mid-19th century.
Harbor Road Historic District is a national historic district located at Cold Spring Harbor in Suffolk County, New York. The district has 18 contributing residential buildings. The majority of the residences represent the village's earliest settlement. It also contains four residences from the mid-19th century when the village was a major whaling port.
West Neck Road Historic District is a national historic district located at Huntington in Suffolk County, New York. The district has 26 contributing buildings. It is a large, intact residential enclave with dwellings dating from the mid-18th to early 20th centuries.
Bute–Warner–Truax Farm is a historic farm complex and national historic district located at Charlotteville in Schoharie County, New York. The district includes three contributing buildings, one contributing site, and two contributing structures. It includes a Greek Revival style farmhouse built about 1853. Also included is a milk house, auto garage, fire pond, and 19th-century family burial plot.
Menand Park Historic District is a national historic district located in the village of Menands in Albany County, New York. It includes 21 contributing buildings; all are residences. The district encompasses an unusual collection of bungalows and Prairie Style houses designed in the period from 1913 to 1925. Most of them have low sloping roofs with wide overhangs and exposed rafters, recessed porches supported by massive brick or cobblestone piers, and cobblestone or stucco coated chimneys.
East Williston Village Historic District is a national historic district located at East Williston in Nassau County, New York. It includes 26 contributing buildings and one contributing site. It encompasses the largely intact 19th and early 20th century residential and commercial core of the village. The earliest extant building is the Willis farmhouse, dated to the early 19th century. The district's commercial center is Station Plaza, located at the 19th century railroad station.
