Rail transportation in the Philippines is currently used mostly to transport passengers within Metro Manila and provinces of Laguna and Quezon, as well as a commuter service in the Bicol Region. Freight transport services once operated in the country, but these services were halted. However, there are plans to restore old freight services and build new lines. From a peak of 1,100 kilometers (680 mi), the country currently has a railway footprint of 533.14 kilometers (331.28 mi), of which only 129.85 kilometers (80.69 mi) are operational as of 2024, including all the urban rail lines. World War II, natural calamities, underspending, and neglect have all contributed to the decline of the Philippine railway network. In the 2019 Global Competitiveness Report, the Philippines has the lowest efficiency score among other Asian countries in terms of efficiency of train services, receiving a score of 2.4, and ranking 86th out of 101 countries globally. The government is currently expanding the railway network up to 1,900 kilometers (1,200 mi) by 2022 through numerous projects.
EDSA station is an elevated Light Rail Transit (LRT) station located on the LRT Line 1 (LRT-1) system in Pasay. The station is situated on the intersection of Taft Avenue and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, better known as EDSA, one of Metro Manila's major thoroughfares. The station was named after EDSA, which in turn is named after Epifanio de los Santos, a noted historian.
North Avenue station is an elevated Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 3 (MRT-3) system in Diliman, Quezon City. It is named after its location, which is at the corner of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) and North Avenue, it is the current northern terminus of the line.
Araneta Center–Cubao station, also known as Araneta–Cubao or simply as Cubao, is an elevated Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 3 (MRT-3) system in Cubao, Quezon City. It is named after the old name of the Araneta City, a mixed-used development in the city.
Ayala station, also known as Ayala Avenue station and Ayala Center station, is an underground Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 3 (MRT-3) system in Makati. It is one of two underground stations that can be found on the line, the other being Buendia. The station is located in Makati and is named so due to its proximity to two places bearing the Ayala name: Ayala Center and Ayala Avenue.
GMA–Kamuning station, also known as Kamuning station, is an elevated Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 3 (MRT-3) system at the boundary of barangays South Triangle and Pinyahan in the Scout Area of Diliman, Quezon City. The station derives its name from the nearby barangay of Kamuning and the road sharing the same name, as well as, apparently, the adjacent GMA Network Center, which serves as the headquarters of GMA Network Inc.
Taft Avenue station is the southern terminus of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) system located in Pasay. It is situated at the intersection of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), one of Metro Manila's major thoroughfares, and Taft Avenue usually referred to as Pasay Rotonda or EDSA-Taft. The station is named after Taft Avenue.
Guadalupe station is an elevated Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 3 (MRT-3) system in Makati. It is named because of its location between the barangays of Guadalupe Nuevo and Guadalupe Viejo, both are in turn named after Our Lady of Guadalupe.

It opened on October 22, 2010, as part of the LRT-1 North Extension Project, as Roosevelt and was renamed to its current name on August 20, 2023, almost two years after the namesake avenue was officially renamed after the Filipino actor.

It opened on March 22, 2010 as part of the LRT-1 North Extension Project. The station serves passengers going to and from the northern parts of Luzon using the North Luzon Expressway.
The North Triangle Common Station, popularly known as the Common Station, is an under-construction rapid transit terminal and transport hub that will connect LRT Line 1, MRT Line 3, and MRT Line 7, and the nearby Metro Manila Subway. It is located in Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City, Philippines, and is named after its location, which is at the corner of EDSA and North Avenue.
Buendia station is an underground Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 3 (MRT-3) system in Makati. It is one of two underground stations that can be found on the line, the other being Ayala. The station lies near the EDSA–Kalayaan Flyover and Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati.
Boni station is an at-grade Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 3 (MRT-3) system in Mandaluyong. It is named so due to its proximity to Boni Avenue, which is in turn named after the nickname of Bonifacio Javier, a World War II guerilla leader and former mayor of Mandaluyong. It has several restaurants and shops that surround the station, including a public market located across the train station.
Santolan–Annapolis station, also simply known as Santolan station, is an elevated Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 3 (MRT-3) system in Quezon City. It is the ninth station for trains headed to North Avenue and the fifth station for trains headed to Taft Avenue. The station is named after the streets it is situated in between Santolan Road and Annapolis Street, and near the eastern San Juan–Quezon City boundary.
Magallanes station is an elevated Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 3 (MRT-3) system in Makati. The station is named after barangay Magallanes of Makati, which in turn is named after Ferdinand Magellan, who discovered the Philippines for Spain on April 15, 1521. Although the station is named after Magallanes, it also serves passengers from Kayamanan-C and barangays Dasmariñas, Pio del Pilar, and San Lorenzo in Makati, and those from Taguig.
Quezon Memorial Circle station is an under-construction Metro Rail Transit (MRT) station located on the MRT Line 7 (MRT-7) and the proposed MRT Line 8 (MRT-8) systems within the Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City.
The Metro Rail Transit Line 4 (MRT-4) is an upcoming rapid transit line serving the Greater Manila Area of the Philippines. The 12.7 km (7.9 mi), 10-station elevated railway will connect Ortigas Center in Metro Manila and the suburban municipality of Taytay, Rizal. It will traverse along Ortigas Avenue and Manila East Road, starting at the former's junction with EDSA in Quezon City to the west until it terminates near the New Taytay Public Market to the east.
The Metro Rail Transit Line 7, also known as MRT Line 7 or MRT-7, is a rapid transit line under construction in the Philippines. When completed, the line will be 22.8 kilometers long, with 14 stations, and the first line to have a third rail electrification. The line runs in a northeast–southwest direction, beginning at San Jose del Monte, Bulacan up to the North Triangle Common Station in North Avenue, Quezon City.
The Metro Rail Transit Line 8, or MRT-8, also known as PNR East-West Line, is a proposed rapid transit line in the Philippines. It would be a 9-kilometer (5.6 mi) railway system connecting Sampaloc, Manila and Diliman, Quezon City via Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon Avenue, and España Boulevard.
