Thalikottai Rasuthevar Baalu Rajaa better known as Dr. T. R. B. Rajaa is an Indian Tamil politician. He is the Minister for Industries, Investment Promotions and Commerce in the Government of Tamil Nadu since 2023, having won the 2011, 2016 and the 2021 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections representing DMK in Mannargudi. [1] He also holds the position of the party's IT Wing Secretary.
He graduated from the University of Madras in a masters in Psychology. He successfully defended his research thesis and was awarded a Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) in Counselling Psychology and Management (Inter-Disciplinary) from Vels University.
Rajaa was born on 12th July 1976 in Chennai to Baalu and Renuka Devi. During his birth, his father was serving his term under the MISA Act. Renuka recalls showing the newborn to her husband in Madras Central Prison from a bridge nearby.
He married Sharmila, the daughter of Educationist Leo Muthu in April 2005. The couple has a Son and a Daughter. Both of them are National and International Level Sports Trap Shooters respectively.
Rajaa has been elected thrice to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Mannargudi. He was appointed as the first secretary of the DMK's NRI Wing and then as second Secretary of the DMK's IT Wing after former secretary PTR ,had resigned from the post. After DMK came back to power in 2021, Rajaa was appointed a member in the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission and as the Chairman of the Legislative Committee on Estimates by the CM Thiru. Rajaa was sworn-in as the Minister for Industries and Investment Promotions and Commerce in the Tamil Nadu Cabinet on 11th May 2023. [2]

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is an Indian regional political party with great influence in the state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. It is a Dravidian party founded by the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu M. G. Ramachandran (M.G.R.) at Madurai on 17 October 1972 as a breakaway faction from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam after M. Karunanidhi expelled him from the party for demanding an account as the party treasurer. The party is adhering to the policy of socialism and secularism based on the principles of C. N. Annadurai (Anna) collectively coined as Annaism by M.G.R. The party has won a seven-time majority in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and has emerged as the most successful political outfit in the state's history. It is currently the main opposition party in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin is an Indian politician serving as the 8th and current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu since 2021. The son of the former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, Stalin has been the president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party since 28 August 2018. He served as the 45th Mayor of Chennai from 1996 to 2002 and the 1st Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 2009 to 2011. Stalin was placed 24th on the list of India's Most Powerful Personalities in 2022 by The Indian Express.

Thalikkottai Rajuthevar Baalu, better known as T. R. Baalu, is an Indian politician. He is currently the MP of Lok Sabha of the Sriperumbudur constituency, elected five times since 1996 from Chennai South and Sriperumbudur. He is a leader of the DMK party and is known for his political loyalty, having been in the party since 1957. He is now the Treasurer of DMK, elected unopposed on 3 September 2020. He earlier served as the Principal Secretary of the DMK Party from August 2018 to January 2020.

S. S. Palanimanickam is an Indian politician from Tamil Nadu. He was a member of the 15th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Thanjavur constituency of Tamil Nadu from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. He was the Thanjavur district secretary of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

He has held several cabinet ministerial portfolios in the Tamil Nadu government under M. Karunanidhi including Finance, Education and Health and Social Welfare. He was elected as a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on nine occasions. He was earlier elected to the Lok Sabha the lower house of India's Parliament from Tiruchengode and was also a member of the Madras Legislative Council. He served as the opposition leader of Tamil Nadu assembly from 2001 to 2006. He was popularly referred to as Perasiriyar (Professor) as he was a lecturer in Tamil in Pachaiyappa's College before resigning to contest elections in 1957.
Kanakilliyanallur Narayansamy Nehru is an Indian politician and Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply. He is the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Tiruchirappalli West constituency. He is a former Minister for Transport in the Government of Tamil Nadu. He has been elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on five occasions as a candidate of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party. He is presently elevated as Principal Secretary of DMK.
K. Ponmudi is an Indian politician and the former Minister for Higher Education of Tamil Nadu, who was disqualified in 2023 after the Madras High Court convicted him in the disproportionate assets case. He was the Minister for Higher Education of Tamil Nadu from 2006 to 2011. He was born in T. Edaiyar in the Villupuram district. He has a bachelor's degree in law, a master's degree in history, political science and public Administration and a doctorate in political science. He is an alumnus of Annamalai University. Before entering professional politics, he was a professor in the Villupuram government college. He has been elected to the Tamil Nadu assembly five times. From 1989 to 1991 during Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam rule he was the Minister for Health, and from 1996 to 2001 he was the Minister for Transport and Highways. He authored a book titled Dravidian Movement in India and Black Movement in the U.S.A.
The second legislative assembly election to the Madras state was held on 31 March 1957. This was the first election held after the linguistic reorganisation of Madras State in 1956. Indian National Congress and its leader, K. Kamaraj won the election and defeated their rival, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. In 1954, due to the resignation of C. Rajagopalachari, for his controversial Kula Kalvi Thittam, the leadership of Congress was contested between K. Kamaraj, and C. Subramaniam. Eventually, K. Kamaraj, won the support of the party, was elected leader and chief minister of Madras State in 1954. In a surprise move, he appointed both M. Bhaktavatsalam and C. Subramaniam, to his cabinet, allowing great unity amongst the Congress that ruled the state of Madras, for the next decade. This election saw future DMK leaders M. Karunanidhi and K. Anbazhagan win their first MLA seats in the legislative assembly.

D. Jayakumar is an Indian politician and was a Member of the 15th Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. He was the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly until his resignation on 29 September 2012. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Royapuram constituency as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in the 1991, 2001, 2006, 2011 elections and 2016 elections for five terms. He served in various cabinet positions starting from 1991 - Forests, Fisheries, Information Technology, Electricity and Finance. He is one among the senior leaders of AIADMK. In October 2020, he was appointed to 11 member Steering Committee of AIADMK and also serves as its Organizing Secretary. In the TN 2021 Election for Royapuram constituency, he was defeated by dmk candidate. He had represented Royapuram five times - 1991, 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2016.

The Sixteenth Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election was held on 6 April 2021, to elect representatives from the 234 constituencies in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) won the election, ending the decade-long reign of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). The DMK's leader M. K. Stalin became the eighth Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and the 12th Chief Minister since the 1956 reorganization. He replaced Edappadi K. Palaniswami of the AIADMK.
The Sixteenth Assembly of Tamil Nadu succeeded the Fifteenth Assembly of Tamil Nadu and was constituted after the victory of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and allies in the April 2021 State Assembly elections. M. K Stalin was elected chief minister, and assumed office on 7 May 2021.
