Kaveripattinam Poongavanam Munusamy (born 7 June 1952) is an Indian politician and deputy general secretary of AIADMK and incumbent member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Krishnagiri Constituency. [1] Munusamy completed his Bachelor of Arts from Govt. Arts College,Krishnagiri during 1971-1974 and later graduated Bachelor of Law from Government Law College,Chennai. He was a Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development in the Government of Tamil Nadu. [2]
Munusamy also serves as district secretary,All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and secretary of Krishnagiri district Anna employees union.
He joined the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party in the year 1972. He rose to the position of Head of the District Youth wing in the party by 1988. [3] He contested in the 1991 Tamil Nadu state assembly elections where he emerged successful from Kaveripattinam constituency. [4] Later he was elected to the 12th Lok Sabha from Krishnagiri Constituency. During his tenure as Member of Parliament,he was a member in various parliamentary committees including Committee on Agriculture,Committee to review the rate of dividend payable by the Railway Undertakings to General Revenues,Consultative Committee of Ministry of Science and Technology and other Science Departments. [5] Then he won the 2001 Tamil Nadu state assembly elections from the same Kaveripattinam constituency. [6] In January 2011 he became the Krishnagiri District secretary for the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party.
In the recent 2011 Tamil Nadu assembly elections,he was able to gain 89,776 votes against his rival Syed Ghiyas-Ul-Haq of Indian National Congress from Krishnagiri Constituency winning by a margin of 29,097 votes. [7]

The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam is an Indian regional political party in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a Dravidian party founded by the former leader of the opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Vijayakant (Captain) at Madurai on 14 September 2005. The party was led by its founder until 14 December 2023 from its date of founding. From 14 December 2023, the DMDK is led by Vijayakant's wife Premallatha Vijayakant as general secretary of the party. The party served as the main opposition party in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 27 May 2011 to 21 February 2016. The headquarters of the party is called Captain Aalayam, which is located at Jawaharlal Nehru Salai, Koyambedu, Chennai.
Ethirajulu Vajjaravelu or E. V. Velu is an Indian politician who has been serving as the Minister of Public Works, Highways and Minor Ports in the M. K. Stalin ministry of the state of Tamil Nadu since 2021. He formerly served as the Minister for Food in the state under M. Karunanidhi (2006–2011).

He was elected four times to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly as a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate from Tiruvaiyaru constituency in the 1989, 1996, 2006 and 2016 elections. Natham R. Viswanathan is an Indian politician and deputy general secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He is a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Natham Constituency. He was the Minister for Electricity and Prohibition and Excise, Govt. of Tamil Nadu. Previously, he was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate from Natham constituency in 1999 after the death of then legislative member of Natham, M. Andi Ambalam. He has won consecutively in 2001, 2006 and 2011 elections in a landslide vote count and has a cult following.
Edappadi Karuppa Palaniswami, often referred to by his initials E.P.S., is an Indian politician who is the current leader of opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He served as the 7th chief minister of Tamil Nadu, from 2017 to 2021. He has been the General Secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) since 28 March 2023. Previously, Palaniswami has served as the interim general secretary (2022–23), joint co-ordinator (2017–22) and headquarters secretary (2016–22) of AIADMK.

And Third time Winner of Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in ulundurpet constituency.He later contested the Ulundurpet assembly constituency from 2021 to 2026 on behalf of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam against DMK and lost by a margin of 5,256 votes and 2.17%.
