Aruppukottai is a city and a municipality in Virudhunagar district in the state of Tamil Nadu,India. Aruppukottai's classical name is "Sengattu Aravakotai". Aruppukottai is about 50 km from Madurai. It is in the middle of Madurai-Tuticorin National Highways NH-38. The villages and towns surrounding Aruppukottai makes this as a major city as well as a major transit hub and they are also famous for production of jasmine. Aruppukottai is always famous for producing yarn. Sri Ramana Maharishi was born in Tiruchuli near Aruppukottai town. Aruppukottai was part of king Sethupathi of Ramnad. The Sixteenth Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election was held on 6 April 2021,to elect representatives from the 234 constituencies in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) won the election,ending the decade-long reign of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK). The DMK's leader M. K. Stalin became the eighth Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,and the 12th Chief Minister since the 1956 reorganization. He replaced Edappadi K. Palaniswami of the AIADMK.
Perarignar Anna Bus Terminus is a central bus terminus in the city of Thoothukkudi,Tamil Nadu,India. It is located in the heart of the city,at Meenakshipuram Pradhana Salai. It comes under the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Tirunelveli) Ltd. division and is one of the bus termini in the city,built with great infrastructure and huge facilities.
