The Taolu World Cup is an elite-level international sports championship hosted by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) for the sport of wushu taolu. [1] Athletes qualify by placing in the top-eight of a standard taolu event at the prior World Wushu Championships. [2] Renditions in 2016 [3] and 2018 [4] have been held so far with the 3rd Taolu World Cup being rescheduled first for 2022,but later for 2024. [5]

The World Wushu Championships (WWC) is an international sports championship hosted by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF) for the sports of wushu taolu and sanda (sanshou). The tournament has been held biennially since 1991 and is the pinnacle event of the IWUF. The World Wushu Championships also coincides with the IWUF Congress and various committee meetings. This competition additionally serves as the qualification event for the Taolu World Cup and the Sanda World Cup.
The 2015 World Wushu Championships was the 13th edition of the World Wushu Championships. It was held at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia from November 14 to November 18, 2015. Starting with this rendition of the WWC, the top-eight finishing athletes in taolu events would qualify to compete in the Taolu World Cup.

The 2024 Taolu World Cup was the third edition of the Taolu World Cup. It was held at the Yokohama Buntai in Yokohama, Japan, from October 26 to 27, 2024. Qualification was done through the 2023 World Wushu Championships and the 2024 Wushu International Invitational Tournament.
