The Homestead in Geneseo, New York is a historic house that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. [1] It is also a contributing property within the Geneseo Historic District, and is described in the district's National Historic Landmark nomination. [2] [3] The house was built by William Wadsworth, and continues to be owned by the Wadsworth family of Geneseo, New York. [4]

Wadsworth Falls State Park

Wadsworth Falls State Park, or simply Wadsworth Falls, is a public recreation and preserved natural area located on the Coginchaug River in the towns of Middletown and Middlefield, Connecticut. The state park's 285 acres (115 ha) offer trail hiking and fishing. Swimming, picnicking, and alcohol are no longer allowed. It is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

John Jay Homestead State Historic Site United States historic place

The John Jay Homestead State Historic Site is located at 400 Jay Street in Katonah, New York. The site preserves the 1787 home of statesman John Jay (1745–1829), one of the three authors of The Federalist Papers and the first Chief Justice of the United States. The property was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1981 for its association with Jay. The house is open year-round for tours.

The mill was built in 1690 by William Rittenhouse and his son Nicholas on the north bank of Paper Mill Run near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The court house was designed in 1898 by the Rochester architectural firm of Bragdon & Hillman, which included architects Claude Fayette Bragdon and J. Con. Hillman. Their work on the court house was featured in exhibitions published by architectural organizations.

Sulgrave Club United States historic place

The Sulgrave Club is a private women's club located at 1801 Massachusetts Avenue NW on the east side of Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. The clubhouse is the former Beaux-Arts mansion on Embassy Row built for Herbert and Martha Blow Wadsworth and designed by noted architect George Cary. During World War I the Wadsworth House was used as the local headquarters for the American Red Cross.

Barber–Mulligan Farm United States historic place

Barber–Mulligan Farm is a historic farm located at Avon in Livingston County, New York. The nearly 640-acre (260 ha) farm includes a number of original buildings as well as many improvements. The most important cluster is the central farm complex which includes the main house, a carriage house, horse barn, and corn crib, all built in 1852 by Aaron Barber. The house is an example of late Greek Revival architecture. Not far from the main house is a cobblestone tenant house built c. 1828.

Wadsworth Fort Site, also known as Brimmer's Sweet or Brier Farm Site, is an archaeological site in Geneseo in Livingston County, New York. In 1956, human remains representing a minimum of one individual were removed from the surface of the Wadsworth Fort Site by the Rochester Museum and Science Center. No known individual was identified. No associated funerary objects are present. Based on archeological context, this individual has been identified as Native American. Based on site location and continuities of material culture as represented in other collections from the site, the Wadsworth Fort Site has been identified as Iroquois (Seneca), dated to 1540–1560.

James Wadsworth (of Geneseo)

James Wadsworth was an influential and prominent 18th and 19th century pioneer, educator, land speculator, agriculturalist, businessman, and community leader of the early Genesee Valley settlements in Western New York State. He was the patriarch of the prominent Genesee Valley Wadsworths.
