Tioga Centre General Store is a historic general store located at 3019 Rt 17 C Tioga Center in Tioga County, New York. It was built about 1849 and is a two-story, frame structure on an irregular coursed stone foundation. The building reflects the typical Greek Revival, front gabled style of commercial building popular in the mid-19th century. [2]

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. [1]

It is the oldest commercial building in Tioga County, NY. It is now occupied by an antique store, "Tioga Centre General Store Antiques and Collectibles". The store is operated by Fran Antalek. The store hours are Thursday - Sunday 10 - 5.

Gilbert E. Purple House, also known as Northern Tioga Telephone Company building, is a historic home located at Newark Valley in Tioga County, New York. It was built in 1903 and purchased by Gilbert Purple in 1911, who expanded it to its present form in 1913. It is a modest ​2 12-story Queen Anne style wood frame building on a stone and concrete foundation. A large 2-story addition was completed about 1930 for use by the telephone company. By the mid-20th century, the building served dual purpose as residence and offices of the Northern Tioga Telephone Company, a small, independent local telephone company.

It was designed and built in 1936–1937 and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, Louis A. Simon. It is a one-story, five-bay, steel-frame building clad in yellow/buff-colored brick on a raised foundation executed in the Colonial Revival style. The interior features a 1939 mural by artist Musa McKim titled "Spanish Hill and the Early Inhabitants of the Vicinity."

The house is a 2-story, five by two-bay, central hall, single pile plan brick dwelling. It sits on a stone foundation and is surmounted by a steep gable roof. The 1888 Tripp Store is a four- by eight-bay, ​2 12-story wood frame commercial / residential structure. It features a 2-story Victorian-era porch. It incorporates the Original Tripp Store, a 2-story timber frame building, as a rear storage section.

Fords Store United States historic place

Ford's Store is a historic general store located in the hamlet of Oak Hill in the town of Durham in Greene County, New York. It was built in 1870 as a two-story commercial building in the Italianate style, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. The restored storefront is composed of a recessed entry flanked by display windows. John Bonafide, preservation analyst from the New York State Parks Commission, said of the building, “As constructed, Ford’s Store is a representative example of Italianate style commercial architecture, popular in America during the third quarter of the nineteenth century. Built on the site of an earlier store and harness shop, the building is architecturally significant as an intact example of simple, mid-nineteenth century commercial architecture in the hamlet of Oak Hill. Today, the Ford’s Store building is one of two intact commercial storefronts to survive in the community. Despite years of neglect and damage, Ford’s store, as restored, survives with a high degree of its architectural integrity.”

Antique Store (Plantersville, Alabama) United States historic place

The Antique Store is a historic commercial building in Plantersville, Dallas County, Alabama. It is the oldest surviving commercial building in the community. The one-story, wood-frame structure was built in 1870. The main facade is three bays wide, with a pedimented one-story porch spanning the entire width. A side ell, added after the initial construction, projects from the south side of the main block. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 29, 1987, as a part of the Plantersville Multiple Resource Area.
