Location

Waterloo Road railway station was built by the North Staffordshire Railway as part of on the Potteries Loop Line and served the north of the town of Hanley, Staffordshire. The station opened in 1900 as it was the last station on the Potteries Loop Line by The North Staffordshire Railway or "Knotty" and the first station on the loop line to close to passengers in 1943 at the height of the Second World War by The London Midland and Scottish Railway or "LMS" ^[2] until 1966 as general goods traffic remained with oil traffic continuing until trains from Walker's Century Oils, now "Fuchs Oil", ceased sending the trains by 1969 to Hanley railway station nearby and the line was lifted Thus ending over 100 years of the Potteries Loop Line.

No trace of the station remains today, the station was at the road crossing on Waterloo Road between Hanley and Cobridge.
