East Nanango is a rural locality in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. [2] In the 2021 census, East Nanango had a population of 273 people. [1]
Much of the western part of the locality is within the East Nanango State Forest. [3] The land use in the rest of the locality is grazing on native vegetation with some pockets of rural residential housing. [3]
East Nanango has the following mountains:
Mount Stanley Road State School opened on 6 March 1925 and closed circa 1957. [7] It was located on the north side of Mount Stanley Road (approx 26°39′01″S152°02′54″E / 26.6503°S 152.0484°E ). [8] [9]
Taromeo Soldiers' Settlement State School opened in November 1934. It closed on 19 March 1944. [10] [11] Despite its name, the school was on the northern side of Greenwood Creek Road in present-day East Nanango (approx 26°41′38″S152°02′06″E / 26.69400°S 152.03489°E ). [12] [13]
In the 2016 census, East Nanango had a population of 265 people. [14]
In the 2021 census, East Nanango had a population of 273 people. [1]
There are no schools in East Nanango. The nearest government primary and secondary schools are Nanango State School and Nanango State High School, both in neighbouring Nanango to the west. [3]
