Fonticella is a strictly anaerobic, moderately thermophilic, halotolerant and non-motile bacterial genus from the family of Clostridiaceae with one known species ( Fonticella tunisiensis ). [1] [2] [3] Fonticella tunisiensis has been isolated from water from a hot spring in Tunisia. [3]
The Thermomicrobia is a group of thermophilic green non-sulfur bacteria. Based on species Thermomicrobium roseum and Sphaerobacter thermophilus, this bacteria class has the following description:
Halomonadaceae is a family of halophilic Proteobacteria.
The Clostridiaceae are a family of the bacterial class Clostridia, and contain the genus Clostridium.
Rubrobacter is a genus of Actinobacteria, given its own subclass (Rubrobacteridae). It is radiotolerant and may rival Deinococcus radiodurans in this regard.
In taxonomy, Vulcanisaeta is a genus of the Thermoproteaceae.
The Chloroflexi or Chlorobacteria are a phylum of bacteria containing isolates with a diversity of phenotypes, including members that are aerobic thermophiles, which use oxygen and grow well in high temperatures; anoxygenic phototrophs, which use light for photosynthesis ; and anaerobic halorespirers, which uses halogenated organics as electron acceptors.
Thermoanaerobacter is a genus in the phylum Firmicutes (Bacteria). Members of this genus are thermophilic and anaerobic, several of them were previously described as Clostridium species and members of the now obsolete genera Acetogenium and Thermobacteroides
Tepidimonas fonticaldi is a Gram-negative, thermophilic, motile bacterium with a single polar flagellum from the genus Tepidimonas, which was isolated from a hot spring water sample from the Antun hot spring in Taiwan.
Legionella massiliensis is a Gram-negative bacterium from the genus Legionella which was isolated from water from a cooling tower in Bouches du Rhone in France.
Chelatococcus sambhunathii is a gram-negative, aerobic catalase- and oxidase-positive motile bacteria with a single polar flagellum from the genus of Chelatococcus which was isolated from sediment of a hot sulfur spring in Orissa in India.
Streptomyces tunisiensis is a bacterium species from the genus of Streptomyces which has been isolated from forest soil in Tunis in Tunisia. Streptomyces tunisiensis has antibacterial activity.
Microvirga flocculans is a bacterium from the genus of Microvirga which has been isolated from water from a hot spring in the Gunma Prefecture in Japan.
Laceyella is a Gram-positive, thermophilic, spore-forming and aerobic bacterial genus from the family of Thermoactinomycetaceae. The genus Laceyella is namened after the English microbiologist John Lacey.
Planifilum is a Gram-positive and aerobic bacterial genus from the family of Thermoactinomycetaceae.
Planifilum yunnanense is a thermophilic bacterium from the genus of Planifilum which has been isolated from a hot spring in Yunnan in China.
Desulfovibrio bizertensis is a weakly halotolerant, strictly anaerobic, sulfate-reducing and motile bacterium from the genus of Desulfovibrio which has been isolated from marine sediments from Tunisia.
Fontimonas is a Gram-negative genus of bacteria from the family of Sinobacteraceae with one known species. Fontimonas thermophila has been isolated from a hot spring from the Hot Springs National Park in the United States.
Thermophagus is a moderately thermophilic and strictly anaerobic genus of bacteria from the family of Marinilabiliaceae with one known species. Thermophagus xiamenensis has been isolated from sediments from a hot spring from Xiamen in China.
Paracnuella is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped and motile genus of bacteria from the family of Chitinophagaceae with one known species. Paracnuella aquatica has been isolated from water from a thermal spring in China.
Modicisalibacter is a Gram-negative, non-spore-forming, aerobic, moderately halophilic and motile genus from the family of Halomonadaceae, with one known species.
