Two listings, the New York State Barge Canal and the Cobblestone Historic District, are further designated a National Historic Landmark.
The Henry Delamater House is a historic house located at 44 Montgomery Street in Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, New York.
The Starr Historic District is a neighborhood of historic buildings and national historic district located at Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. The district encompasses 102 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Richmond. It developed between about 1853 and 1915 and includes representative examples of Greek Revival, Italianate, Second Empire, and Queen Anne style architecture. Included in the district is a former Hicksite Quaker Meeting House, now the Wayne County Historical Museum and the Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church and Andrew F. Scott House. Other notable buildings include the Miller-Mendenhall House (1875), Dickinson Log House (1825), Starr-Cadwalader House (1861), and Clem Gaar House (1883).
The historic village of Aurora, Cayuga County, New York, rises on a hill above the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake. The village was named by Captain Benjamin Ledyard, who settled there in 1793, in the post-Revolutionary development of the Finger Lakes region. Up until the mid-nineteenth century, Aurora played an important part in the history of Central New York.
The National Register of Historic Places listings in Syracuse, New York are described below. There are 116 listed properties and districts in the city of Syracuse, including 19 business or public buildings, 13 historic districts, 6 churches, four school or university buildings, three parks, six apartment buildings, and 43 houses. Twenty-nine of the listed houses were designed by architect Ward Wellington Ward; 25 of these were listed as a group in 1996.
There are 75 properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Albany, New York, United States. Six are additionally designated as National Historic Landmarks (NHLs), the most of any city in the state after New York City. Another 14 are historic districts, for which 20 of the listings are also contributing properties. Two properties, both buildings, that had been listed in the past but have since been demolished have been delisted; one building that is also no longer extant remains listed.
The Boice House is located on Fair Street in Kingston, New York, United States. It was first built around 1850 in the Greek Revival architectural style.
South Main Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Mount Morris in Livingston County, New York. The district encompasses both sides of a three block section of South Main Street (NY-36), one of Mount Morris' premier residential neighborhoods. The district includes 27 contributing residences along with 13 contributing outbuildings, mostly carriage houses and garages. They comprise the largest and most impressive collection of predominantly high style domestic architecture in the village in a broad range of architectural styles.
The Maplewood Historic District is located in Rochester in Monroe County, New York. The district is distinguished as having landscape designs, including Maplewood Park, originally laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted.
The Skaneateles Historic District is a 17 acres (6.9 ha) historic district in the village of Skaneateles, New York that dates back to 1796, includes one building from the 20th century, but is otherwise composed of 19th-century residences and commercial buildings. It includes 59 contributing buildings and one contributing site – Thayer Park along Skaneateles Lake, – as well as five non-contributing structures. The district runs along both sides of East Genesee Street from Jordan Street to Onondaga Street, and includes the core of Skaneateles' historic downtown area, which was rebuilt in 1836 after being almost totally destroyed by fire in 1835. Also included are properties on Jordan Street up to the intersection of Fennell Street, and the stone mill property on Fennell Street.
Main Street Historic District is a national historic district located at McGraw in Cortland County, New York. The district includes 33 contributing buildings, one contributing site, and one contributing structure.
The Fulton County Courthouse, originally the Tryon County Courthouse, and for a time the Montgomery County Courthouse, is a historic courthouse building located on North William Street at the corner of West Main Street in Johnstown, Fulton County, New York. It was built in 1772 to 1773 and is a Late Georgian style public building. It is the oldest existing Court House in the State of New York and one of the oldest in the United States still being used as a Court House.
The Kingsboro Historic District is a small national historic district located in Gloversville, Fulton County, New York. The district contains 18 contributing buildings and one contributing site. The district encompasses all the properties that face onto Veterans Park – formerly Kingsboro Avenue Park – plus five additional properties. They are primarily one and two family residences dating to the 1820 to 1840 period and reflect the Greek Revival style. Also included is the Kingsboro church (1838), Kingsboro Cemetery, a monument in the park, and a former elementary school which is now the Fulton County Museum.
Three Squares Historic District is a national historic district located at Glens Falls, Warren County, New York. It includes 75 contributing buildings, one contributing site, and one contributing object. It encompasses Glens Falls historic and contemporary commercial center. The buildings generally consist of brick commercial, office, and institutional structures between two and five stories in height. Because of devastating fires in 1862 and 1902, the majority of the buildings were built between 1902 and 1930. Notable buildings include the Italianate style Cowles block (1865), Neoclassical style Rogers Building (1926-1927), Beaux-Arts style Empire Theater (1899), and Neoclassical style Glens Falls City Hall (1900).
Warrensburg Mills Historic District is a national historic district located at Warrensburg, Warren County, New York. It includes 58 contributing buildings and four contributing structures. It encompasses a number of mill complexes and homes related to the development of Warrensburg. It includes a mill dam, Emerson Sawmill, grist mill, early shirt factory (1878), later shirt factory (1898), office building (1855), coal storage shed, grain warehouses, and 51 wood residences and one brick residence. Also within the district are the Osborne Bridge, and Woolen Mill Bridge.
Church Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Nassau in Rensselaer County, New York. It consists of 36 contributing buildings located along Church Street. They include a variety of residential and ecclesiastical building. New England Federal style buildings predominate, with a number of notable Victorian period buildings, including a Second Empire residence dated to the 1870s. Notable churches include St. Mary's Church (1925), Nassau Reformed Church (1901), and Grace United Methodist Church (1833).
North Mansion and Tenant House, also known as the General William North House, is a historic home located at Duanesburg in Schenectady County, New York. The North Mansion was built about 1795 by General William North (1755–1836). It is a 2-story, five-bay, rectangular frame residence topped by a low-pitched hipped roof pierced by two large central chimneys. It is representative of the Georgian style. The main entrance is flanked by slender pilasters and a slightly projecting pediment. The tenant house was constructed in the 1780s and is a 1+1⁄2-story, altered saltbox-style residence. Also on the property is a contributing barn.
The Woodpile is a historic family estate and national historic district located at Bedford, Westchester County, New York. The district contains 17 contributing buildings, four contributing sites, and nine contributing structures. The three primary residences are set on the east side of Croton Lake Road, one north of its junction with Wood Road and two south. All three look over a designed landscape on the west side of Croton Lake Road, which is part of the historic district. The oldest residence, known as Brambleworth, is a stone Gothic Revival cottage designed by A. J. Davis and completed in 1847. The middle residence, known as Evergreen Lawn, was built in 1856 and is in the Italian Villa style. The third residence, known as Braewold, was designed by architect Addison Hutton (1834–1916) and is a stone Second Empire style building built in 1870.
Bell Place–Locust Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Yonkers, Westchester County, New York. It includes 11 contributing buildings. They are residential structures and outbuildings representative of the High Victorian, Italian Villa, and Second Empire styles. They were built between 1855 and 1887 and consists of medium-sized, single family residences, between two and three stories in height. Some have extant carriage houses on their properties.
Fort Greene Historic District is a national historic district in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York, New York. It consists of 1,158 contributing buildings, two contributing sites, one contributing object, and two contributing structures. It is characterized by a concentration of architecturally distinguished three and four story townhouses developed speculatively and built between 1840 and 1890. Most are faced in sandstone and exhibit characteristics of the Greek Revival, Italianate, Second Empire, and Neo-Grec styles. It includes the 33-acre Fort Greene Park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in 1868. In the park is a column memorializing Revolutionary War soldiers that was designed by McKim, Mead, and White and erected in 1908. The park was built on the site of fortifications built in 1776 and 1814. Also located in the district is the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
