K-pop, short for Korean popular music, is a form of popular music originating in South Korea as part of South Korean culture. It includes styles and genres from around the world, such as pop, hip hop, R&B, rock, jazz, gospel, reggae, electronic dance, folk, country, disco, and classical on top of its traditional Korean music roots. The term "K-pop" became popular in the 2000s, especially in the international context. The Korean term for domestic pop music is gayo, which is still widely used within South Korea. While "K-pop" can refer to all popular music or pop music from South Korea, it is colloquially often used in a narrower sense for any Korean music and artists associated with the entertainment and idol industry in the country, regardless of the genre.

Jung Ji-hoon, better known by his stage name Rain, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, dancer, actor, and record producer. Rain's musical career includes seven albums, 28 singles and numerous concert tours around the world. He achieved breakthrough success with his third Korean album, It's Raining (2004), which spawned the number one single of the same name. The album sold a million copies in Asia, and established Rain as an international star.

Pops in Seoul, airing from 1998 to 2021, has presented Korean pop music for the past eleven years on the network Arirang TV. The show's VJ presented current music, news about K-pop culture, and provided overseas viewers with the latest Korean pop music and information. Former host Daniel of DMTN was caught up in a drug scandal and as a result, stepped down March 13, 2013, being replaced by BtoB's Peniel. On August 18, 2013, Wonder Girls member Lim became the show's newest host. On March 10, 2014, Lim officially stepped down from her duties and was succeeded by five new hosts.

Alexander Lee Eusebio, professionally known as Alexander Lee or Alexander, is a singer, rapper, actor and host based in South Korea. He is a member of the South Korean boy band U-KISS. In 2017, he debuted in the Philippines as the main character in the 105-episode television series My Korean Jagiya. He is currently active as a television host on Arirang TV's #StyleCast 2017 and is also a daily radio host for the Double Date show on tbs eFM.

Eatyourkimchi is a YouTube video blog channel created by Canadian expatriates Simon Stawski and Martina Sazunic in 2008. The channel featured videos about their lives in South Korea, including food, cultural differences, and popular media. In 2012, they registered Eatyourkimchi as a company in South Korea and opened their own studio in Seoul, which remained operational until 2015.

Simply K-Pop is a South Korean music television program broadcast by Arirang TV. Originally called The M-Wave, the show's title was changed to Wave K in 2011, and renamed again in 2012 to Simply K-Pop. It airs live worldwide every Friday at 13:00PM KST, and is broadcast from Arirang Tower in Seocho-dong, Seoul.

<i>Feast of the Gods</i> (TV series) South Korean TV series or program

Feast of the Gods is a 2012 South Korean television series, starring Sung Yu-ri, Seo Hyun-jin, Joo Sang-wook and Lee Sang-woo. The series follows the fate of two girls whose identities were switched and later become rival chefs of traditional royal cuisine. It aired on MBC from February 4 to May 20, 2012 on Saturdays and Sundays at 21:50 for 32 episodes.

The Korean Food Promotion Institution or previously Korean Food Foundation (한식재단) is a nonprofit organization established in March 2010 to enhance the overall well-being of Korean people and the economic status of South Korea by promoting Korean cuisine globally. It aspires to improve competitiveness within the Korean food industries locally and overseas. The organization was established as a public domain with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The organization has put in efforts to draw publicity and globalize its brand; it has partnerships with several countries to promote Korean cuisine.
