Set in the fictional town of Tremorton, the series follows the adventures of a robot super-heroine named XJ-9, or Jenny, as she prefers to be called, who attempts to juggle her duties of protecting Earth while trying to live a normal human life as a teenage girl.

Despite using the "Nickelodeon" branding, it does not air any content from the original channel in recent times as part of a localisation strategy; instead the original Nickelodeon content is only broadcast on the Nickelodeon HD+ channel. The Nickelodeon Saturday programming block was the program block branding for Nickelodeon's Saturday morning and Saturday evening programming on its flagship channel in the United States. The morning block mainly featured new premieres of Nicktoons programming, while the evening block consisted of the network's original live-action sitcoms. The branding launched on September 22, 2012, with season premieres of the respective series in both dayparts. The evening version of Gotta See Saturdays was a direct successor to the former Saturday night SNICK (1992–2005) and TEENick (2001–2009) blocks.
