The speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary (Hungarian : Magyarország Országgyűlésének elnöke, literally the president of National Assembly of Hungary) is the presiding officer of the National Assembly of Hungary. The current speaker is László Kövér, since 6 August 2010.
The speaker of the National Assembly serves as the acting president of Hungary if the elected president vacates the office before the expiration of the five-year presidential term due to death, resignation or removal from office, or temporarily if the president is incapacitated.

Árpád Göncz was a Hungarian writer, translator, lawyer, agronomist, and liberal politician who served as President of Hungary from 2 May 1990 to 4 August 2000. Göncz played a role in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, for which he was imprisoned for six years. After his release, he worked as a translator of English-language literary works.

Ferenc József Nagy was a Hungarian agrarian engineer and politician, who served as Minister of Agriculture between 1990 and 1991. After that he was appointed minister without portfolio, he also held this position in the cabinet of Péter Boross until 1994. Nagy was the chairman of the Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party for a short time.
Sándor Lezsák is a Hungarian poet, teacher and politician. Between 2 April 2012 and 10 May 2012, Lezsák was temporarily the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, as the resignation of Pál Schmitt led to Speaker László Kövér becoming acting President of Hungary. Once again Lezsák 26 February 2024 to 5 March 2024 temporarily became the speaker of the National Assembly, as the resignation of Katalin Novák led Speaker László Kövér becoming acting President of Hungary.
An early indirect presidential election was held in Hungary on 2 May 2012, following the resignation of Pál Schmitt as President of Hungary on 2 April 2012. János Áder was elected president with an absolute majority.

Bence Tordai is a Hungarian politician, economist and sociologist. A founding member of Dialogue for Hungary, he has served as Member of the National Assembly since 2018. He has been co-leader of the Dialogue for Hungary from July 2022 to February 2024. He is leader of the parliamentary group since January 2024, a position he held too for a brief time from May 2022 to September 2022.
