Maharana Pratap Sports College is a sports academy and a college in Raipur, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It offers sports training in six sports, Athletics, Football, Volleyball, Boxing, Cricket and Field hockey in sixth to twelfth standard and with the curriculum of Uttarakhand Board. [1] It was only sports college in the state until the establishment of Hari Singh Thapa Sports College at Pithoragarh. [2] [3]
Dehradun is the capital, largest city and also the most populated city in Uttarakhand. It is the administrative headquarters of the eponymous district and is governed by the Dehradun Municipal Corporation, with the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly holding its winter sessions in the city. Part of the Garhwal region, and housing the headquarters of its Divisional Commissioner, it lies along National Highway 7 with the distance of 248 km (154 mi) north of India's capital New Delhi and is well-connected with a rail line and the airport. Haldwani is the third most populous city, and largest commercial market in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is also the largest city of the Kumaon region. Haldwani is said to be the financial capital of Uttarakhand, having the most commercial, economic and industrial activities of the state. Haldwani is located in the Nainital District, and is one of its eight Subdivisions. The Haldwani Urban agglomeration has 232,060 people as of 2011, and is the fourth most populous UA in Uttarakhand, after Dehradun, Haridwar and Roorkee. Being situated in the immediate foothills of Kumaon Himalayas, the Kathgodam neighbourhood of Haldwani is known as the "Gateway to Kumaon".
Gairsain is a town in Chamoli district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand near state's summer capital Bhararisain. A town and Nagar Panchayat, Gairsain is situated at the eastern edge of the vast Dudhatoli mountain range, and is located in Chamoli district almost at the centre of the state, at a distance of approximately 250 kilometres from Dehradun. It is easily accessible from both the Garhwal and the Kumaon divisions, and in a way, acts as the bridge between the two regions. It is being considered as the future Permanent capital of Uttarakhand.

Other major stadiums are EMS Stadium in Kozhikode, Malappuram District Sports Complex Stadium in Manjeri, Kannur Indoor Stadium in Kannur, Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium in Kollam and many more. All these stadiums attest to the mass appeal of such sports among Keralites.

It is the first international standard stadium in the state and was constructed by Shapoorji Pallonji Engineering and Construction. The cost of constructing the stadium was 237 crore. In May 2018, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed that Afghanistan would host Bangladesh in June 2018; this was the first international fixture at the stadium. Saifai is a university town in the Etawah district of Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is also a sub-division (Tehsil) and Block of the Etawah district. Indira Gandhi International Sports Stadium is located in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, India. It has a capacity of 25,000 people and was inaugurated on 18 December 2016 by Harish Rawat, the then Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. It is spread over an area of 70 acres and has cricket and football grounds, a track for 800-metre race, a hockey field, badminton courts, a lawn tennis court, a boxing ring, and a swimming pool.
