Hillsdale is a town in Columbia County, New York, near Hudson, New York and Great Barrington, Massachusetts. State Routes 22 and 23 intersect near the town center, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The town has several restaurants and a general store, among other businesses. Hillsdale is known for its hilly landscape and is near Bash Bish Falls, Taconic State Park, and the Catamount ski area.
Copake Falls is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Columbia County, New York, United States. The hamlet, once known as Copake Iron Works, is in the eastern part of the town of Copake, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) west of the Massachusetts state line. The CDP was designated after the 2010 census, so no population figure is yet available.
The North Egremont Historic District is a historic district in Egremont, Massachusetts. It encompasses a crossroads village in the northern part of the town, where the north-south road, now Massachusetts Route 71, connects Kinderhook, New York to points further south, and the east-west road runs from Hillsdale, New York, toward Housatonic, Massachusetts. The district encompasses some 236 acres (96 ha) along these and other roadways near their junction. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
First Methodist Episcopal Church of Nyack, also known as Old Stone Church, is a historic Methodist Episcopal church on North Broadway, south of the junction of North Broadway and Birchwood Avenue in Upper Nyack, Rockland County, New York. It was built in 1812-1813 and is a one-story, three by two bay, sandstone building on a stone foundation. It features a moderately pitched gable roof.
Woodrow Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church at 1109 Woodrow Road in Woodrow, Staten Island, New York. It was built in 1842 and is a wood-frame, clapboard-sided, temple-form Greek Revival style building. It features a portico with four Doric order columns supporting a plain entablature and unadorned pediment. Above the portico is a three-stage, open bell tower and spire in a vernacular Italianate style added in 1876. Also on the property is a two-story clapboard house built about 1850 and expanded in 1860–61.
North Settlement Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church on County Route 10, east of the junction with County Route 32C in Ashland, Greene County, New York. It was built about 1826 and is a one-story, four by three bay, post and beam frame church with a modestly pitched gable roof. Also on the property is a small wood frame privy.
Copake United Methodist Church and Copake Cemetery is a historic United Methodist church on Church Street in Copake, Columbia County, New York. The church was built about 1854 and is a one-story, timber frame meeting house style church with Greek Revival style design attributes. It features a stoutly proportioned, four columned Ionic order portico and a two tiered belfry. The church is set within Copake Cemetery. The earliest burial dates to 1757 and most of the stones date to the first decades of the 19th century.
Ohio Street Methodist Episcopal Church Complex, also known as Third Avenue Methodist Church and St. Ann Maronite Catholic Church, is a historic Methodist Episcopal church at 1921 Third Avenue in Watervliet, Albany County, New York. It was originally built about 1850 and modified about 1895. The parish house was built about 1880. Both are brick buildings with wood floor and roof framing and stone foundations.
Carver's Creek Methodist Church, also known as Carver's Creek United Methodist Church, is a historic Methodist church located near Council, Bladen County, North Carolina. It was built in 1859, and is a frame Greek Revival-style church with a pedimented front portico, and a two-story rear addition. It measures 40 feet across and 60 feet deep.
Mills River Chapel, also known as Mills River United Methodist Church, is a historic Methodist chapel located near Mills River, Henderson County, North Carolina. It was built in 1860–1861, and is a one-story, rectangular, vernacular Greek Revival-style church. It features a front portico with four, square, recessed panel wooden columns. Adjacent to the church is the contributing church cemetery, with gravestones dating from as early as 1824.
First United Methodist Church is a historic United Methodist church building located at 201 E. Main Street in Lincolnton, Lincoln County, North Carolina. It was built in three stages in 1919–1920, 1936, and 1956–1957. The oldest section is a two-story Classical Revival style brick church with a two-story portico and dome-covered sanctuary.
Centenary Methodist Church, also known as Centenary Memorial United Methodist Church, is a historic Methodist church located at 2585 NC 130 E near Rowland, Robeson County, North Carolina. It was built in 1885, and enlarged and modified in the Classical Revival style in 1903. It is a one-story, gable front frame building with a rectangular steeple and vestibule. A gable-front portico with cornice returns, supported by two slender wood columns, was added to the church in 1982. Adjacent to the church is the contributing cemetery with approximately 160 marked graves.
The First United Methodist Church is a historic church building at Jefferson and Cross Streets in DeWitt, Arkansas. It is a two-story red brick structure, designed Thompson & Harding and built in 1923. It has a Classical Revival style portico supported by six unevenly spaced Tuscan columns. The triangular pediment is fully enclosed, with a central oculus window. The building is the third built for a congregation established in 1854–55, and the first built of brick.
The Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church at 100 W. Church St. in Cartersville, Georgia was built in 1907. It was designed by Atlanta architect Walter T. Downing. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
First United Methodist Church is a historic church located at the junction of North Pine Street and West Port Street in DeRidder, Louisiana. The two story Classical Revival tan brick building was built in 1915 and is now part of a church complex occupying an entire city block. The facade portico with Ionic columns and the glass windows have unchanged since the time of construction, and the church exterior is very well preserved. A new church was built in the 1960s on the southern portion of the block and the historic church interior was deeply altered in order to host a basketball court.
First United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church at the junction of Prince and Clifton Street in Conway, Arkansas. It is a single story brick building with Classical Revival style, set on a raised foundation. The building is basically rectangular in shape, but its main roof is cruciform, with gables on all for sides, and a dome at the center. The front has a fully pedimented six-column Classical portico, with an entablature and dentillated pediment with a small round window at its center. The church was designed by George W. Kramer of New York City, and built in 1913 for a Methodist congregation founded in 1871.
Emmet Methodist Church is a historic church at 209 S. Walnut in Emmet, Arkansas. Built between 1917 & 1918, it is one of the few Akron Plan church buildings in the state, and it is a fine local example of Colonial Revival architecture. Its main entrance is highlighted by a curved portico supported by four columns topped with simple curved capitals. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. and it serves a congregation which was organized in 1855.
St. John's AME Church is a historic congregation of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Norfolk, Virginia, United States. Founded in 1840, it was the first African American Episcopal Church in Virginia. It moved to its present location on East Bute Street in what is now Downtown Norfolk in 1848.
Weaverville United Methodist Church is a historic United Methodist church located at Weaverville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. It was built in 1919–1920, and is a two-story, five bay, brick church with Classical Revival and Late Gothic Revival design influences. The front facade features a two-story, three bay portico. Attached to the church is the educational building constructed in 1956–1957.
Stidham United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church located at Shadeland, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. It was built in 1912–1913, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, co-axial plan Gothic Revival style brick building topped by a steeply sloped gable roof. It features a crenellated bell tower with masonry buttresses and an American Craftsman style plain wood portico.
