OJSC "SAT Airlines — Sakhalinskie Aviatrassy" (Russian : Сахалинские Авиатрассы), commonly known as SAT Airlines, was an airline based in Sakhalin, Russia. It provided scheduled regional air services in Russia's Far East and to destinations in China, South Korea and Japan. Other services included charter flights, search and rescue operations, firefighting and aerial patrols. Its main base was Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport.

Contents

The airline was amalgamated with Vladivostok Air to form new carrier Aurora in October 2013, with the new company retaining the airline designator codes of SAT Airlines.

History

The Joint Stock Company, Sakhalinskie Aviatrassy — SAT Airlines was established as a result of the reorganisation of the Sakhalin United Detachment. It was established and started operations on 20 April 1992. Its sole owner was the Government of the Russian Federation. It employed 574 staff.

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk International Airport, also called Khomutovo International Airport, is an international airport in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, on the Russian island of Sakhalin. The airport was established in 1945 as a military airfield. With currently one 3,400 m concrete runway, two passenger terminals, two cargo terminals and 16 aircraft stands, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk International Airport is the largest airport in Sakhalin Oblast. The airport opened a new terminal in August 2023. The airport is also building a second concrete runway that should be finished by 2024 and a 4-star hotel.

JSC Dalavia, also known as Dalavia — Far Eastern Airways was an airline based in Khabarovsk, Russia. It operated scheduled and charter flights within Russia, and international flights to Asia. Its main base was Khabarovsk Novy Airport. The Russian Government suspended its traffic rights in October 2008.

Mavial Magadan Airlines was an airline based at Magadan, Russia, operating Tupolev Tu-154 and Ilyushin aircraft. As of the summer of 2006, it was the only airline flying between the Russian Far East and the American state of Alaska.

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Air Enterprise is a passenger airline with the main base in Yelizovo airport, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia. The airline serves local routes in Kamchatka Krai. Since the end of 2012 it is officially called Kamchatka Aviation/Air Enterprise although the old name is also used.
